Hi,

I have a 2021 Honda Passport. I purchased it new with about 80 miles on it at the beginning of summer. Since I have owned it, it always seems to have some delay in going from first to second gear, and maybe 2nd to 3rd gear, but only when I start the car for the day and begin driving down the street. At no other times does it do this throughout the driving day, including starting the car and driving it at later times of the day. For that daily, first time period, it feels like the drivetrain is rough and has some hesitancy while shifting. But after I get through that initial 50 yards of driving everyday it is fine for the rest of the day.

I was hoping that it was maybe something with the break-in of the vehicle (this is my first new car Ive ever purchased, as Ive only ever purchased pre-own previously). Does anyone else have this experience or is this something that anyone feels will lead to bigger issues in the future? I have almost 4,000 miles on it now, and the Passport still does it. Just want to make sure I get it checked if needed since its still under warranty.

Thanks in advance.

If you have a light throttle foot, that could be your problem. With 9 gears, the trans would have difficulty figuring out which gear would be ideal for certain throttle/speed applications. (Because there's less difference between any two gears...)

Try being a little more "aggressive" (Insurance company "monitors" be damned!) and see if it shifts better.

any Resolution? Same thing on my new 2022. Only upon cold start and 1st shift is really hard.
