You are not alone. Quite a few have complained about the noise. There are posts in this forum that show how to disconnect the " buzzer". You have to reach under the rear bumper. I have not done it but I understand it is sort of a tight squeeze but only takes a few minutes. Do not have to take anything apart.

Personally, I like the beep. I also rarely use the tailgate too...

The beeping that bugs me is when I use my foot to close the tailgate because my arms are full of groceries, and I walk away too fast, so it beeps like mad to let me know that the doors didn't lock. What I'm actually annoyed with is myself for not remembering to hang around for the tailgate to finish closing before I take off, not the car, because I am glad that it let me know that the doors didn't lock.

Since my handsfree never worked, I can’t relate...

However, is that what the beeping like mad means?
Mine does that every so often and I just yell back at it with a “WHAT NOW”
I have mine set to auto lock after 15 seconds I think too?

I thought about naming my Passport R2-D2 because it beeps so much. One beep every time I open the drivers' or passenger's door, one beep every time I close any door, and another beep when I walk away.

And it’s white!
Love it.
R2 D2 was my nickname when I was about 3’ tall for a couple years too!

When the tailgate opens or closes, that sound becomes annoying. It could be a more pleasant or even quieter sound.

I know, hardly worth mentioning, but just had to post it.
I played drums for most of my life and now I barely hear things like beeping tailgates - even with my hearing aids. It is a bad solution so wearing ear plugs now when playing would be wise ;-)
