I have a brand new 2020 passport Honda only 3 months old with 1,800 miles on it and light came on for oil change but it doesn’t need an oil change. Brought to dealership but they don’t know what the problem is. Has anyone experienced this problem?

When was the vehicle built? You can find that on the label which is on the drivers door when you open it, or on the pillar by the drivers door. Should be a month and year.

The MM does count down time even if it isn't driven from what I have read. You are also only putting 600 miles a month on it, so between the build date and the lack of miles driven, the MM may indicate the oil is ready to be changed.

Just recently had my first oil change on my 2019, maintenance minder came on at about 3600 miles. Previous models ,'17 Pilot and '17 Ridgeline (all three have the same engine), first oil change didn't happen til around 5000 miles. Only difference is I haven't put as many miles on the PP during the first year as the other two.

The oil change is called for either by the Maintenance Minder code, of if it has been 1 year since the last oil change.

Compared 2017 Pilot and Ridgeline, the new Maintenance Minder on the Passport and Ody now tracks time. Oil changes must be changed yearly, regardless of mileage. And they added code 7 to change the brake fluid every 3 years.
