Any recommendation on what to use to lubricate the struts for the rear liftgate? Not sure about just spraying silicone on the cylinders. Thought I would reach out the experts here on the forum. Thank you very much.

Yes, a silicone based lube is best. Non-silicone lube will cause rubber seals to expand. I've used Honda's Shin Etsu Silicone Grease to stop the rear struts from squealing a couple of times. Also great for window rubber seals. DANCO brand also has a silicone lube for o-rings at your local hardware store or online. I've not tried the silicone sprays.
  • Wipe the left and right cylinders with a soft towel to remove excess dirt and debris.
  • Apply a thin layer of grease on the entire length of the INNER cylinders.
  • Operate the tailgate and removed excess grease.
