Regarding the tinting of the brake lights, I’d highly suggest not doing it, for safety reasons. Any tint is going to diminish the visible light. If you’re ever rear ended, you could bare the responsibility. JM2C
Totally understand, not trying to tint it completely black. Just want a smoke appearance.

Tinting the taillights will not diminish the brightness of the lights so long as you don't go too dark.

A number of vehicles I've followed with tinted taillights ARE noticeably darker than without tint. Definitely a safety issue IMHO.
