My 2021 Elite blew 2 OEM tires at the same time driving over some roadside weeds and presumably something low and sharp. I replaced them all with 18 inch wheels and all terrain tires. The tires worked very well until I lifted the car a little with the jsport lift kit which caused the front 2 wheels to rub. I have since replaced the tires with slightly thinner 18" Nitto Grappler tires and the rubbing decreased a lot. Next year, I probably will replace the wheels with KMC 18 inch wheels that have a slightly less wide stance ( less offset) which I hope will eliminate the last of the rubbing. My heavier AT tires and possibly the small lift have decreased my mpg by 1 to 1.5 mpg. I do really like the car. I love the extra features and plan on keeping it a very long time. I will probably go all electric Rivian SUV next provided its cost drops a little - hopefully by then, you can slap a solar panel on the roof to extend its range!
Have a look at the posts (on the site), there was a guy who:
1) Jacked up his front end (block it for safety)
2) Removed both front wheels
3) Removed the inner Cowling/Plastic Liners (where it rubs)
4) Did a minimal amount of pounding (Not sure if he did this - please look)
5) Replaced some large-headed screws/bolt with slimmer-headed screws/bots
6) Replaced Cowlings/liners
7) Replaced wheels
This reduced the height of the area that rubs...
(I would like to do this someday, as I too have rubbing with my 18" AT's
