Junk in Your Trunk - What are You Storing?

6564 Views 27 Replies 15 Participants Last post by  Sam
What is everyone hauling around in their Passport for emergencies, repairs, everyday items, tools, etc.? What’s stored where; in which trunk storage box, cubby, dedicated carrier/box, or glovebox? Do you have any ideas for optimizing the storage space?

Now if you had duct tape on your list, the police would’ve been called. 🚔😀

Rope + duct tape = o_O

Thanks Heather! I’ll throw a Leatherman in there, along with a solar USB charger, some clothes, and another phone charger.

I usually keep about 8 bottles of water (16oz) in my cars at all times. I drink water constantly, and even bring a bottle into stores and other places. Always thirsty.

Some really good additions! I need a shopping trip now. The one time you may need this stuff makes it all worth it. In the past few years, I’ve probably used about 20 flares for other people, and 3 for myself.

Compared to my old Pilot, the under-floor storage is a huge plus! No more messy trunk, or crap to move around when I need to use the trunk space.

The under floor storage is one of the best standard options for an SUV hands down!

maybe I missed something in the owners manual but why do we need a transmission tool?

Also once the spare donut is gone, there will be so much more room, but not until I find a solution for mounting a full size spare on vehicle in some manner....

If the battery dies, and the PP is in park, you won’t be able to tow it without shifting into neutral. The Honda lock release tool will allow you to manually shift the transmission from park to neutral, and avoid damage to the trans.

Damn, never thought about that....is that a problem or just a precaution? and how do you use it? Your site listed didn't have a photo for it.
My hidden box contains tools: 9mm open tip wrenches and 22 levers; plus some cleaning/ lube supplies. Riding above that is a large tool type chest containing jumper cables, a warm jacket (for cold restaurant use) and whatever gets tossed in. A small soft sided ice box contains ear-muffs.
