I wonder if they even have stock in their LA store.
My kinda luck, it's on a boat coming from China. Why it's taking so long.🤦‍♂️

I finally got it installed. I used some magnetic fender covers to protect the paint while installing.

Has anyone found a rack that is Made In USA? I refuse to buy made in china (as best I can) all the way back to when I graduated HS at 17 yo in 1985.

Thanks for sharing! After you test them out, please do share pros and cons. I'm interested in a roof rack, and Jsport was one of them.

Edit:
Here's the other one I was eyeing: Amazon.com: Titopena Roof Racks Cross Bars fit for Honda Passport 2019 2020 2021 All Black Side Rails Aluminum Crossbar Rooftop Cargo Carrier (4PCS): Automotive

I think I prefer the Jsport though.

After seeing how these racks are constructed, it boggles my mind (as an engineer) for the mark-up on these. The metal pieces are not super expensive to make (especially in quantity) and batch powder coating is not overly expensive.

Just engineer thoughts

If you make one similar for less, I'd probably buy one from you. For real, lmk!

@tombox , I was anticipating some noise on the first day I drove it on the interstate and that day was cloudy with high winds, I didn't notice any noise. My truck has 2 roof rack crossbar mounted on the canopy and they whistle like crazy until I added 1/2" weather stripping and tucked them in the empty T-slot areas.

Today I made some hardware for my roof rack.

Yep it looks pretty good and likely quieter than side rails, cross rails, basket - probably lighter weight too. Tempting. Sadly it isn't one of the things on sale from JSport this weekend.

@tombox , I'm not sure how much weight it can support , but they market it with a roof tent, so I'm guessing it can hold a good amount. The Plateau doesn't make any annoying noise, but I hope owners are prepared when the roof is loaded full of stuff, wind noise is inevitable.

@Cilles , ikr , I saw jsport had a memorial sale on their side step. My kinda luck.

I am ready to go back to the OEM roof rails from the Plateau if anyone wants to talk about buying this one used. I’m happy to drive a pretty good distance and just move it assembled from my roof to another one (and maybe even just take away someone’s factory rails in the process?). Happy to discuss if anyone is interested. Thanks!

(Why I’m doing this: I sold my roof top tent, so the original reason that I bought it is no longer a factor. And while it looks cool, the only use I have for it now is a Yakima box that was easier to mount on Yakima cross bars on the OEM rails. No issue with the Plateau… just a change in my needs.)
