Anyone tried this JSport roof rack? This isn't the one that goes on your existing rails and cross bars but it is in place of factory side rails and requires no cross bars. It is a bit pricey but I like the look and overall profile is way lower (before adding things) than having a basket on top of cross bars on top of side rails.

Since I already have side rails and cross bars I'd have to sell them and that may defer some of the cost of purchase and installation. I wish they had more pics of it.

The images for the Ridgeline have more detail. Though it’ll be a little different, probably not by too much.

I wonder if it has enough clearance to still use the sunroof?

why would it change how the moon roof works? it doesn't open outside of the vehicle it slides into the roof of the vehicle.
It can also be elevated in the back without opening fully. Or when opened fully, there is a wind ‘deflector’ that pops up in the front.

Funny this was thread was started today, I was searching all over forum last night about this same Plateau roof rack! 😁
I was almost positive I read someone here had this roof rack. I'm also very interested in the roof rack.

I do have this installed now. Thanks for the heads up, @PNWGarageDad. I have carried a roof top tent and roof top box on it with no issues.

I have used the moonroof in the "full open" position many times with this rack installed, and I just confirmed that it does not interfere with the moonroof in the other opening (cracked up in the back).

I'm happy to post some pictures if you have specific things you want to see.

It was fairly easy to install, and I did the same thing and sold my rails and crossbars. It is steel, so if you scratch the paint, you will want to repaint that to keep it from rusting.

If you're mounting things that you take on and off a lot, let me know how much clearance you need and the span between the attachments. I've found that the only way to really mount the front part of anything is to open the moonroof and tighten them sitting in the front seat. It's fine, but it took me a few times of struggling to get my hands through the side access to figure that out.

Let me know what you'd like to see!

Thanks for the feedback! Is it super Heavy (how many people needed to install), or would it be better to hang it from the garage ceiling and back the PP under it for installing? From this picture, looks like 4 mounting points, would that be correct?
Are the scratches from lowering a heavy roof rack onto the roof or does the roof rack not have protection (pads) while mounted on the vehicle?

If it's not too much trouble would love for you to share some pictures (y)(y)

I’ll get some photos this week, hopefully this afternoon.

The rack ships in three boxes, and you’ll put it together on top of the car, starting with the siderails, then the front wind deflector, and then the cRoss bars. It is doable for one person, but two would be better.

Yes, there are four mounting points, which surprised me after seeing that the OEM ones were mounted at six points, but I check to ensure that they’re not backing off about once a week, and no issues so far.

The scraches have been from me trying to muscle tents or other heavy items onto the top of the car by myself. There are not any pads on the bars or rails, but if you have some help in placing your cargo, you should not have any of the trouble I do from being a neurotically independent person.

Will work on some photos as soon as I can get to it.

@Reid Matthews, Another quick question, do you have wind noise? I most likely will be buying this rack anyways but still curious.

Have you noticed a big drop in MPG? (Reported in the ridgeline reviews). I loved this design, then lost interest when I saw the weight. Now I'm back to considering it when I priced out rails, bars and a basket ( I have a sport)

Not as much as pulling a camper! :) But really, I don't think I saw anything noticeable, but you're right that it is heavy.

My Jsport plateau should be in next week. I'll add some additional feedback after I install it and use for 30 plus days.

How did it go? I am about to install the OEM rails but does the JSPORT one look THAT much cooler? Can you still do rail mounted things on it?

My purpose for the Jsport plateau is camping and supporting Lumber when I do projects around the house. Cool factor is at the bottom of my list, but at the same time I try not to add anything on my vehicle that looks hideous. Having a sport model that had zero roof hardware, i went with the Plateau for the same reason @Machammer mention above, with respects to costs.

that’s exactly what I want out of a rack - now I’m a bit worried the OEM rails might not do the job :/
