I am not sure if this is a typical problem or not. I replaced all of the interior bulbs on my 2019 Passport to LED about a year ago and every since then, all of the LEDS rapid flash as the car is starting up. Usually about 3 times very fast as the car is cranking over. It's obviously barely visible during the day but at night it can be disorienting and catches my passengers off guard. This problem did not exist on my 2006 Civic Si when I replaced all of the interior bulbs to LED.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem after converting to LED?

EDIT: I presume this is due to a fluctuation in the voltage being supplied during startup. Perhaps a CANBUS bulb with resistor built in would solve this?

Do I need to buy both or one or the other? Not sure how many bulbs are needed for all interior lights. Thanks!
The 6612F is for your vanity lights. The 194 is for your map, dome, and cargo area lights. You'll need 5 total to do the map dome and cargo area. I haven't done the glovebox or center console lights yet so I don't know what bulb size those are.

Update: I bought these LEDs from Amazon and installed them today. The rapid flash upon the car starting is still there. Example video of what I am experiencing here.

I can't remember if this happened with the stock bulbs. It may be normal and I just don't remember it happening because the stock bulbs were so dim.

This is what happens when the LED bulbs are too quick respond to pulse width modulation used to dim the incandescent light bulbs. You can try to see if you can get the OEM LED bulbs maybe they will have a slower response so the flickering is not as obvious.

This is the one's I got off of Amazon and they do not flicker. Very happy with them one year later.

It's odd though that it is happening on my Passport and not on pshadoa's, even though we purchased the exact same LEDs.

Talked to a mechanic friend of mine and explained what I was experiencing. He mentioned that it is normal and virtually all cars do it. The starter consumes a lot of current from the battery when starting so less is getting to the lights, causing them to dim or flicker. The brightness of the LED lights just makes it more noticeable.

Yes, hello, Acura Master Technician here. You rang? 😋

My thought is that LED lights tend to flicker and are more sensitive to voltage fluctuations generally. Especially the off-shore Amazon brands. They're built for a low price point, not to be the highest quality.

Second of all, what is the battery condition? It is the middle of winter and batteries tend to get low on charge or fail. If it's not pushing a full 12 volts with good amperage to the electronics you're going to have weird issues.

As an example, when an alternator is failing. It has voltage, but not enough. Things like control units will operate, sort of. Not uncommon to throw a bunch of codes and dash lights that are caused by not enough juice.

Alright, just the person I was hoping would see this!

With regards to the battery condition, I have had the LED's installed since last summer and they have always suffered from this flashing on startup. I originally installed LED's from SuperBrightLEDs (these) which I really like because they are brighter than the other ones I bought from Amazon. However, the increased brightness led to the flashing/fluttering on startup being even more noticeable. I used the same brand LED's in my 2006 Civic Si and never experienced any interior LEDs flashing or fluttering. A buddy of mine has a 2018 Jeep with aftermarket LEDs without any of these symptoms on startup. His lights actually stay constantly illuminated as the starter is cranking. This baffled me even more.

Interestingly, I re-installed the OEM bulbs last night and they also exhibited the flashing/fluttering but it was barely noticeable because they are so dim.

I will take a multimeter and see what the battery is at currently to rule out a dying battery.

Ultimately this is a minor annoyance but if it is something I can mitigate, that would be awesome.

Looking for help in ordering these interior lights.
Anyone have thoughts? I also see that those SuperBrightLED's come in cool, natural or warm.
Clueless here
Thanks for any help

You will get problems like above if you go with Amazon or other cheap LEDs. Ordering from a good company is worth the increased price IMO.
Diode Dynamics, VLEDS, and Morimoto all make quality bulbs.
As far as sizes, you will need 7 194 size bulbs to do both dome lights, cargo light and both door lights.
