I just installed the diecast running boards and when I was underneath the car on right side, found this crack through the first bracket mounting location. Anyone else find a crack here or at one of the locations. Should I worry?

What I'd suggest is letting the dealer evaluate it; if you don't believe his answer then have a body-shop look at it.
Chances are you'd need to first remove that board so they can see it.

Pretty sure that's not normal. When I removed my side steps months ago I did not notice any cracks in the unibody or mounting area under my Passport. I'd get it checked out.

This is a flaw that you can't cure with Elmer's Glue. If you bought it from your local dealer, take it in and have it replaced. Mine don't have any flaws.

After reading one of your other posts I've noticed that your passport was purchased used, as was mine. In Canada all used cars are sold with a CARFAX history report that discloses if the vehicle was involved in an accident. I'm wondering if your dealer disclosed any information on that? This might be the case with your Passport. It could also be a flaw in the production metal from the factory. If so Honda would have to make this right. The Unibody should not have cracks in it, especially near the pinch seam that bonds the body together.

is the crack in the running board or the unibody....loos like a cast piece in the picture which would indicate the running board. I would return the running boards and get a new set.

no, it's definitely on the car side, it's at the front bolt hole where the running board bolts to the Passport

A crack in a casting particularly at a mounting location is not common place but not totally unusual. But, to have a crack in your frame at a mounting location is a completely different scenario and I would definitely bring it to the attention of the dealer from which you purchased it from.
