About a year ago, I installed a trailer hitch and a Curt 4-pole wiring kit to my Passport. Installation was basically easy except the stock socket to plug the unit into is hard to reach without removing the left side interior panel. I don't tow a trailer often with the Passport but when I need to haul gardening supplies, furniture, or whatever, it comes in handy. I towed the trailer a couple of times without problems. All lights worked perfectly. Then months later, I did not have anything except right stop light. No left stop or tail lights. I checked every fuse related to trailer towing. There are two in the box under the hood and one directly on the wiring kit. I check all functions with a multimeter but just can't find the problem. I have good ground connections on both the trailer and Passport. The trailer lights work perfectly when I tow it with my truck.
I finally gave up on the Curt wiring kit and bought a Tekonsha T-ONE kit. Both are custom for the Passport. I have the same problem with both kits. Note: I bought the Curt kit from eTrailer.com so I called and talked with customer support. Their suggestions were check fuses, and buy another kit (the Curt was out of warranty).
Does anyone have suggestions or have had similar issues? Thanks.

On mine, I had a similar issue, but the real problem was light grounding on the trailer side, not with my passport Curt 4 pin wiring kit (although since that was the new variable I chased that side first for a solution). The ground contact at the trailer lights were both corroded. I replaced all my trailer lights with LED units and added new ground paths for them, and all work fine for now.
