Personally I wouldn’t mind the auto stop if it only kicked in when you are say stuck at a light for a bit. I hate that it shuts off when you stop at a stop sign for a few seconds. Wish someone would make it with more of a delay.

500 Km on my new Passport and the stop start feature has stopped working. I disliked this feature intensely on the 2016 Pilot that I traded in, but on the Passport is was a lot smoother and less intrusive when it started the engine again. Tempted to let it go but I am concerned that it may be indicative of other problems. Any insights?

Learn what conditions will not allow it to work, well documented everywhere, then learn how to drive with it, some are not coordinated enough

The Idle Stop hasn't worked in a couple days (after I did some non-invasive investigation under the hood for something else). It doesn't show any issues, but it just isn't kicking in when I stop. I tried the reset procedures that others have suggested (originally from Odyssey forums) to no avail. Any suggestions? Should I just wait it out and eventually it may kick on? It's not really an issue, but more bothering me that something isn't working already.

Same here. I wouldn't even know what to look for under the hood though.

I am hoping with my last system update - Honda listened to us and removed the feature?

since we have a button to turn it off manually, I wouldn't think it's default off after a system update. Perhaps mine will turn back on and the conditions aren't quite perfect now for it to trigger. I just found it odd that it was working almost every time I stopped and now it's not doing it at all. It's a funny system. My first car that's had it.

From another post:

I'd try a master reset. 3 ways to do it;
1- disconnect car battery for a few seconds
2- find and remove fuse for the nav then put it back in
3- plug in a usb keyboard to the upper usb port and do a control alt delete (not sure if this will reset the nav)
In colder temps I believe the autostop will not activate. This is the way it has been in other cars I've had. My PP auto stop has not activated in a month since we got our first snow and temps are typically below 40F (and I also like to keep the seat heater on).

Got our 2019 PP a month ago but have only had it out a couple of times, once specifically to "joy ride" and play with it and we couldn't get the Auto Stop to work. I don't recall what the temps were that day but they were likely in the 30s at best so your comments give us hope that our PP is working as it should.

Mind you, the Auto Idle Stop feature is not one I am familiar with or particularly keen to have, but when you acquire a new vehicle as complex as this one is, well you want to know everything is working as it should be.

Well everybody , got my touring back from the dealership service dept after nine days . Factory engineers finally found the problem. It was Brake boost pressure sensor., volts, replace pcm an recode it. Also replace harnesses line #3 an #4. Whatever that means . Not happy with Honda factory .???. No problem with dealership .
I have a 2019 Passport EX-L and this feature never worked. No warnings showed to indicate it was not functional, it just never triggered. The first time I brought it in they replaced a humidity sensor (part 80590-TZ5-A41). Since it was in January and fairly cold the dealer could not test it. After two weeks I knew that didn't do it. Brought it back in after letting the dealer know about the research I did here. They had it for 3 days, but they finally fixed it. They also engaged Honda factory engineers. Ended up having to fix an open circuit and some wire was faulty, and also replaced the heat and A/C climate control panel (part 79600-TGS-A51ZA). The feature works fine now. Hopefully, they get this in their knowledgebase for future customers.

Mine hasn't worked for months. I'm 2200 miles so I attributed it to a low battery. I actually liked it not working but then I kept on asking why is it not working. I read the manual and there are quite a few hurdles that need to be passed for it to work. One the weather warmed up I thought it would start working but still nothing. Finally today it started working when I had to stop for a lane closure. It must have been the battery, no heaters or ac on hood closed etc.

My idle stop works about 50% of the time, therefore I usually forget to turn it off.
Plus, I don’t drive but maybe every two weeks. But when it does idle stop, I just curse at it and turn it off. Probably the lamest feature on our Passports!
