Idiotic shipping prices on all Honda parts websites

Tried to buy cargo side covers as one on the left cracked from hanging a bag with bottle of wine on that hook (legendary Honda quality I guess). This is my third Honda but in a long while. Last one I owned was '03 Civic with 160K miles, no plastic cracked. Oh well, but I digress.
Wanted to buy this piece instead of getting panel replaced --> 08P42-TGS-100A .
Price is very reasonable, circa $60 for a set. But shipping... OMFG!!!! Cheapest I found was $265. WTF is going on? I was quoted $97 to ship a hitch with wiring harness and kick adapter, but this crap is universally almost 300 bucks to ship... There was one on fleebay for $80 with free shipping, but they all gone now sadly. Nothing on Amazon.
Anybody knows a place where these can be bought and shipped for somewhat sane amount of $$?

Bernardi Parts offers free shipping on order above $75 but before placing an other there you may want to compare the final delivery price with the prices you are getting elsewhere because Bernardi's prices can be slightly higher than the prices at other parts retailers. A second option for lower shipping price is to find parts sellers nearer to you or buy from the parts department of your local Honda.

Oh, much better!! Thanks!!
I was flying to CA, last Fall and found the shipping from Phoenix to be less than the others. I was visiting my daughter and my old MDX, so I changed the fluids, while I was there.

If one of these sites has your item in stock and they are close to you, the shipping will be less.

When I drive to visit my parents in Indiana, I have to go through OH. So I just plan a stop at College Hills Honda to pick up my order. 😊

I found that Hondapartsnow has sanest shipping for items that are not that big. Bernardi also works for some stuff. Hitch kit, I could find cheaper with shipping vs Bernardi with free shipping. I also found a site that has free dealer drop off option: honda.oempartsonline.com

If you use Hondapartsnow please share your experience, I didn't have a happy experience with them in the past but I'm willing to try them again if I read recent positive reviews.

I believe it was Hondapartsnow.com or honda.oempartsonline.com that I may have used for one order. They are a middleman and not the seller. The order is directed to a nearby dealership that has the items at the listed price. Likely is that your experience will depend on the seller fulfilling the order. I have used Bernardi for many years with generally good pricing and good customer service.

You are correct about Hondapartnow. I have an issue with them accepting orders even when the ordered items are not in stock. After I had to cancel an order I went to read their reviews and saw a mountain of negative reviews, some of the reviewers revealed that after accepting an order, Hondapartnow goes to an Honda dealer to buy the item ordered so there is no guarantee that they will not come back and inform the buyer that the item they accepted payment for is not available. I was fortunate because I paid with Paypal so my payment was quickly refunded but part of the reviews I read had people complaining of refunds that took forever and rude customer service staff when they paid with their credit cards.

I have seen 20+ year old parts available at Honda Parts Now, which were discontinued at other sites. After ordering them, I would get an email telling me that they were no longer available and that Honda Parts Now had corrected their list.
It's been a battle, because my old Hondas have out lived their inventory stock.

I have asked an eBay seller - who is an actual dealer selling online - specifically to list an item I needed and they will do that for me and then they will ship it with the normal shipping prices.

I placed an order using PayPal. This is not a critical part, so I figured what the heck, I can risk not getting it for a while. Will report back when/if I get it.

Big shout out to Bernardi as well. I ordered the trailer hitch from them, free shipping on a very heavy item. I have bought the cargo side covers and rear seat protectors from there as well. Highly recommend.

Got the parts in 3 days. No issues.
One thing to note is if you buy a few items and one is on National back order, some sites cancel the whole order, while Bernardi gave me the option to wait, cancel the back ordered part and ship the rest, or just cancel and wait.
Also, I was buying a hitch and harness from HondaAcuraPartsDirect.com (San Carlos, CA, about 60 miles from where I live), listed their shipping for $40 something, the emailed me that that was a mistake and raised it to a little more than $100.
