Hey to all of you overlanders, softroaders and off-roaders and anyone who found this topic interesting!

I know some of you run 32 inch tires out there outside of JonDZAdventuring (Jon, if you are reading this, please weigh in by all means). How much cutting does it take to get the tire to fit without too much rubbing, preferably none? Please share your experience and what you had to do to get them to fit. Any word of advice, photos or videos would be appreciated.

I would like to stick with 255 width to avoid extra rub and keep the tire weight down. I currently run 245/70R17 and a 2 inch F/R lift. Looking at the wheel well gaps I see a lot of potential for upsizing but I do not know that 245/70R17 already rubs very slightly with the lift, so cutting or some sort of modification will be required.

The plan is to use 32s for offroading and use my EOMs for every day.

Here is a good video from JonDZ on axle relocation and hacking up the wheel well. You may have already seen this video, but wanted to share it, if you haven't.

Here is a good video from JonDZ on axle relocation and hacking up the wheel well. You may have already seen this video, but wanted to share it, if you haven't.

This video has footage of him getting his first lift and his first set of tires, which are 31.5 I think. I don't know if he had to do any additional work to fit 32 inch tires. He did remove more from the front fender and rear fender after getting 3.5 lift and switching to 32 inch tires. I have not seen a video that described what was done in which order and if it was required for 32 inch tires.

I got a response from the No-Lo Designs guy who got 32 inchers on his 2021 red Ridgeline. His pictures showed that he cut the same area that JonDZ showed in his video. Looks like it is the narrow spot in Passport and Ridgeline that limits the tire size. I think I have some idea of what to ask for. Now I just need to find a shop willing to do this work at a reasonable price ;-0

I believe you need to add this to run bigger tires as it moves everything forward a hair to gain tire clearance. After cutting the rear area of course. Thought I saw one of Jon‘s videos where he added this.
Traxda - Kit #222010 – 2017-2019 Honda Ridgeline 2wd/4wd/AWD – Axle Relocation Kit - Traxda
I have 2F/2R Traxda kit and it works fine without the axle relocation kit. The wheel is centered nicely in the wheel well. Perhaps, this is needed for 3 inch lift?

Or is the whole idea to push the wheel forward to avoid cutting? So the front wheel with be off-center but I won't need to cut the wheel well? I will check with Traxda.

I got response from Traxda (Greg). The axle relocation kit will indeed allow you to get 32.1 tire with some minimal plastic trimming in the front (plastic trim not the metal in the back). They tested it with 275/65R18 tire,

which is pretty wide if you ask me, but the wheel does look a bit lopsided, pushed forward.
