I recently got an 8' x 8' awning from NAPA (was only $100) but I now need to figure out how to mount it. The awning has two t-slots and bolts. The spacing is too narrow to fit around the rails or crossbars.

Does anyone else have this type of awning mounted? Is there a solution before I have to build custom parts? I figure I COULD also get a roof basket and mount it to that, but want to avoid that if I can.

Thanks all

Without seeing the t-slots, can you cantilever some sort of platform on your rails to give it the support?
Here is what we call a napkin CAD...this is why I draw in Vectorworks! 🤣

Can you interpret this for me? What is where? And I agree generally I could do some type of attachment off the cross bars.

Try this, and this is a top view plan.
and if you can post a of the t-slots, it could help.

What contraption did you use and is it easy to set up and take down the awning?
I mounted extruded aluminum railing with slots and then just drilled a few extra holes in the long L bracket to match the hole pattern I had. Bolted up and was good to go.
Have yet to set up yet so will let you know
