Hi guys, just a prospective buyer here, I would like to ask you guys if the specs dimension Available online is the correct actual height of PP from the ground up to the top edge of the rail — 71.6“~72”?

I wanted to get the PP over outback but I have a very limited height entrance on my garage door (old house).

Thank you so much guys.

[Edit] - Touring, AWD, 265/45R20 Stock wheel/tires less than 1100 miles treadwear @ 39 psi, 1/2 tank of fuel (unleaded so the gas weighs less), unladen {only non-stock added weight of significance in vehicle are trailer hitch (46 lb), and running boards (15 lbs)}. Nothing in cargo area except cargo mat & net. 😉

Measured from ground to top of rail at center post (highest point on vehicle): 72-3/16 inch, exact.

awesome P-A-N-D-A .

thank you so much for the effort of physically measuring it.

I have literally 72.5” opening height in my garage. So most likely I’ll be removing the crossbars whenever I need to use it. Or if there’s an alternative slim/flat rails combined with slim/flat crossbars would be an option for me. Otherwise, Seems it would be an annoying issue especially on winter time! But I really want PP than outback....

thanks again!

I posted height to top of roof rails, NOT cross bars.

Installation of Honda OEM crossbars or aftermarket crossbars will add several inches to your overall height.

OEM crossbars add quite a bit to height. And they are not so EZ to remove. There is a post on this forum from someone who adapted flat crossbars that did not add to the height.

Yep I figured Yakima/Thule bars will add at least 1.5 inches. Let alone the OEM bars.
Do like I do... fill your garage with odd and ends and park a new car outside. 🙄 Every summer I plan to clean it out, but it always seems to get put off.

I think that thread was my First post here in the forum 😉. I hope he would chime back in and give us an update. It actually looks nicer than the OEM ones at least to me (looking in the pics on that thread), just not so sure on the load rating or any other “possible issues” after install and actual use with bike/kayak or any other heavier stuff...

thanks all for the input guys, appreciated it a lot!

Haha, at least for the first year or two, I want to baby it as much as I can as it would be my first car above 35k 🤣
I went thru this when purchasing a condo that I ended up rescinding my offer. But my Elite AWD is 72.2” From from the ground to the top of the rail. Do you need the length and width? If so, it is below. And the elite has the folding side view mirrors that I couldn’t fit in my current garage without.

Length190.5 in
Height72.2 in
Width78.6 i

I own a garage door company if you have the 'headroom' above the door it is possible to make the opening bigger. The 'standard' size for a garage door has been for many many years 8' or 9' wide by 6'6" - 7'0" tall. I recommend to anyone building a new home these days to go with a minimum door size of 10' wide by 8' tall...

How does one do this?

I have a pull up by hand garage door since there's no room for a motor behind the door because there is a beam there and our power line comes on the side to the electrical box

In your case you have ‘low headroom’ track and extension springs. In your specific case it does not look like there is any way to gain any height. Some garages, like mine have 3’ feet above the door opening in this case you can make the door go higher.

anyone know the overall height to top of OEM crossbars? 23 Trailsport

Don't know if 2023 Trailsport is significantly different from other trims, but this is from earlier post for an AWD Touring:

Copy that. It does not add the crossbar height. I am hoping it's less than 74"
