Headlights question

Hi all! I recently discovered this forum and I have a question. I hope I'm in the right place. I apologize if this has been discussed before. I got my 2019 Passport Elite back in March 2019 and recently went through a holiday lights drive-thru display where we were asked to turn off our headlights. I rarely drive at night and the lights are always on AUTO so I never had to manually turn them off. I thought I got it right when I turned the knob to OFF. While following a car through the display, the driver stopped his car twice, got out and yelled at me to please turn off my lights. I was sure I did and when I got home I checked the manual and it said in order to turn off the exterior lights, turn the knob to OFF. I did that, got out and looked and the DRLs were still on. So does anyone know if the lights are always on or if there is something I'm missing in order to turn them completely off? Thanks.

They are off when the parking brake is set.

That's not going to work if I have to drive. 😟
Figured as much. In other words, they can't be turned off totally. Thanks.
I removed my fuse for the DRL in the fuse box under the steering column. It's simple and harmless.

Oh-oh, we're going to a Christmas light show drive through in a few days.
You mean I won’t be able to turn off my lights?
Does this mean I have to drive my old Chevy truck instead?

From these replies, it looks like they can't be turned off completely. I was planning to go to another light show, too, but I don't have another car. So I guess I'll take the chance and hope I don't get yelled at again!

What if we tape on black out rags over the lights?
Seriously, this is ridiculous.

As I mentioned, you can simply remove the fuse for the daytime running lights.
Each function on the headlight assembly has it's own fuse. Low beam, high beam, and fog light are 3 separate fuses.

If you remove your DRL fuse you will have 100% function of all other lights on the headlight assembly unit.

Or......that putting rags over the headlights is also an idea too. Simple and easy to do lol

The solution to being courteous to other drivers/vehicles that are also viewing Christmas lights.
As helicopterpeople posted, simply pull out this fuse before leaving home to go Christmas light viewing.
The fuse is located in the cabin fuse block, just above the parking brake by your left ankle.
Since it does not affect headlight/turnsignal/marker/taillight functions, you can even wait and reinstall it the next day.

While this fuse is removed, and light switch in OFF position, you are running in dark mode. 🦉
While this fuse is removed, and you turn on your light switch to first 'parking lights' position, your marker lights, taillights, rear license plate lights and the LED DRL modules will illuminate. Likewise the LED DRL modules will illuminate when you turn to the headlights position.
ONLY thing this fuse controls is pulled is the always-on DRL function.

Does this mean I have to drive my old Chevy truck instead?
Yes, HondaN600, you should drive your truck instead!!!!

Oh, this is awesome! I'll give it a test run before going. Thanks so much!

Hey, did you ever try this hack?
I took a peep under my dash where we were told to and I didn’t see all those colorful fuses.
Was it hard to get to?

It's not necessarily under your dash...
The fuse box in question is located by the same general area as the OBD II port.

Perhaps it could be also best described as look directly beside and up behind the hood latch.....

The fuses are way up under the dash on the left side. I found it and located the fuse but I didn't have a chance to try it yet.

FYI,
The fuse was easier to get to than I thought but I could not pull it out with finger tips or tweezers. Had to use a pair of small needle nose.
Note to me: Buy a fuse puller!
Doing this will do what I need, tried it last night.
Thanks to the The Great Panda for the suggestion!

There's a fuse tool in the engine fuse compartment that you can use.

Hello! I am searching for the FUSE for the FOG LIGHTS. I've searched completely thru these illustrated diagrams for each of Passport Fuse Boxes.... but none of them lists FOG LIGHTS as a fuse location. Do you have any ideas on that? Fuse Box Diagram Honda Passport (2019-..)
