Gloss Black or Matte Black? Looking to change from stock to 18" wheels for Crystal Black PP

When the time comes to replace the original tires on my wife's 2019 Crystal Black PP EX-L, I may swap out the big 20" gray wheels for 18" wheels along with the new tires.

Which have people preferred more? Glossy black or matte black? "Assume" the car might get a wash from time to time too :) Thanks!

I went with a flat black for my MSM as soon as I had the time to figure out what I wanted.
There was nothing more I disliked more than all that glossy piano black finish! I think it was about 6 months of waiting and seeing all that gloss.

I agree with ProdGirl ,

Matte black for me and the Misses on our Modern Steel Metalic.

She gets compliments on her wheels frequently and they require less maintenance than their shiny counterparts.

Now if this was a sports car, it would have to be shiny everywhere.

I might add, that if I had a shiny black Passport, the decision to go matte on the wheels would be much more difficult.

I came across this 18" wheel from a Ridgeline. Getting slighly more cushy tires along with them wouldn't really be a bad thing:

Nice looking wheel.
$324 each.......ouch.

Yeah, that‘s pricey.
My KMC’s were $225/each, but OEM is always more $$$!

We went with the gloss black OEM from a ridgeline.

Nice. Is this the right one? We've bought our last 4 sets of tires from Discount Tire, but I've never bought rims from them.

I would go with flat black simply because gloss black, like a mirror will show every speck off dirt and dust. Especially if you are planning on going off road at all.

Yep. The KMC707, 20”.
I bought the Enkei wheels on my 2006 CRV from Discount/Americas Tire as well back in 2007.
Sold them on it 2 years ago. Never had an issue, scratch or curb rash! 🤭
