What is the latest map version that Garmin has for the Passport? My Passport has map 2022.10. I also have a portable Garmin navigation unit, and its updates are always more current. I haven't updated it in the last six months and it currently has 2023.20. Makes me wonder why Honda Garmin updates lag behind.

The current version available for the Passport as of last month is 2023 v1.0. I get email update alerts through Garmin as well as HondaLink when they are available.

Portable units updated through Garmin Express or Web Updater are a completely different system and software.

Update done in about 45 minutes and yes, my Passport running parked in the carport.
You most definitely do NOT need to run the engine....just accessory mode. I did both our Passport and CR-V without ever starting the engines - just using accessory mode.

How do you get around accessory mode automatically shutting off after (est) 15 minutes?

Won't that brick the software update the car loses power during the update?
I never had that issue. I'm guessing that it'll stay on longer than 15 minutes if it's actively doing something. ?

Has to be with a minimum of 45 needed minutes.

I don't want to be the one to find out though. I'll just run the engine like the directions state.
This is the third year I've done this, never started the engine ever.

So I'm angrily bringing this thread back to life. I'm failing repeatedly to update the maps on my 2019 passport. I've successfully done a couple of the previous updates no problem, but I just cannot get gamin express to recognize my flash drive this time around.

Yes, it's a sansdisk cruiser 16 gb.
Yes, it's formatted FAT32 on Mac OS Big Sur.
Yes, the passport seems to be writing something to the disk and I'm waiting 60 seconds before removing the drive.
No, Garmin express WILL NOT recognize my drive.

I've tried 2 different 16gb drives, both formatted and named GARMIN. I've formatted FAT32 and EXFAT. I've even tried the process on my windows 11 work PC. I cannot get Garmin Express to read the drive.

Short of running to Best Buy and buying a 32gb drive, I'm at a loss for what to try next.

Name your disc “Garmin”. Otherwise Express will be unable to read it. And I found out the hard way it will not work if you use all large case letters when naming the stick.

Also you might want to go into your settings on MacBook and remove Express program and reinstall.

mentions:
2021 and newer vehicles - The USB port in the front console must be used.

and..

Try another USB device in the same USB port on your computer to be sure it is working!

OTHER HINTS:

Disk utility on my Mac won't let me format a disk "Garmin". Only "GARMIN". I'm not sure if FAT32 is case sensitive or not. I've also tried removing are re-installing Garmin express with no luck. I'll try changing the name through Finder and see if that works

Are you saying that the USB port in the console below the armrests must be used? Not the one up near the charger? That seems inconsistent at best. That USB port (to my knowledge) will not communicate with the infotainment system, only charge.
