In case any of you find that you hear something sliding back and forth and making a buzzing / rattling noise over bumps inside your dash, I can tell you what little bugger has been torturing me for the last 3 days. A bolt. Someone at the factory left an extra one of the main glove box support bolts sitting on a metal rail behind the glove box. I thought about taking it back to the dealer, but I usually investigate these types of things on my own before letting anyone touch my cars.
So... if you have a mystery rattle/sliding/ buzzing going on behind the dash on the passenger's side, drop your glove box like you are going to change the cabin air filter and take a look!

Here's my culprit:

Makes you wonder 'what else' was left undone, or left laying about.
I do have a little concern. But... so far, since I've removed that bolt, there are no rattles or squeaks of any kind. I've had at least one Honda in our family fleet for 30 years and always do my own work on them... so I gave the motor and driveline, body panels, all of that stuff a good "looking over" before we took delivery (they let me take it home and go over it) and I didn't find anything that looked out of sorts. I could have missed something. Time will tell of course. :)

The mechanic knew he dropped it and didn’t take the time to find it, I built airplanes for 33 years and one time I dropped my 1/4” wrench down into the belly of the plane (wasn’t tied to my wrist) so I went looking for it but couldn’t find it. My next step was to call a group that has a camera that can be slithered into the tightest areas to look for FOD, after searching the general area for 2 1/2 hours we found it tucked in a insulation blanket.

You wouldn’t believe what they’ve found that was dropped in airplanes, more recently someone left a flashlight in the wing fuel tank, pretty scary
