Okay.... some of you may remember that I just found the source of a rattle coming from inside the dashboard. It was a loose bolt left behind by the factory person in Alabama sitting on the metal railing that runs behind the glovebox. I had another rattle that would come and go originating from somewhere in the second row. Today I decided I'd had enough and started digging. I couldn't believe what I found! Another loose BOLT! This one is a body bolt that is probably used to secure the seat rails to the floorboard. It was just laying on top of the metal rail that the second row slides on. I took pictures and then went to the dealer to see if there was any chance that my second row wasn't secured properly. The service guy said that if I can't lift up on the seat and move it then it was probably just left there when the seats were being installed. He said that the Alabama plant was been working as fast as they can to crank out product lately and they have seen other things left behind by someone in a hurry.

They are going to check that all bolts are properly installed in the second row when I take it in next week for a lift kit to be installed.

This is kind of exasperating since now I've got that "what the hell else am I going to find?" feeling going on. Other than these two loose bolts, the Passport is perfect so far.

Here is the culprit:

They was kind enough to give you extra parts. 😆
Or another version of an Easter egg hunt, but with bolts.🙃

Hopefully they were extras laying around but after your body creak issue with the Ridgeline it's gotta be in the back of your head that Alabama assembly is still not up to par. Hope this is the end of it.

When I traded in my Ridgeline for the Passport I was giving Honda one more try. Within a week the CVT on our 15 CRV failed and I was pissed I didn't get a Highlander. On day one the PP leaked diff fluid, it took me forever to find the leak as nothing shows up easily on a brand new diff case. It was not residue, it was a check bolt that wasn't fully fastened. This got me nervous as it has nothing to do with Alabama. A few really bad trim piece alignments but otherwise this PP has been really good until I hit a deer a few months ago. I have since purhased two RAV's and I am really happy with them and the Passport. I've gotta say though that I find the Hybrid drivetrain superior, I had no clue how much better it could be over a Honda V6.

Had no idea you traded off the Ridgeline. And "yes"... the body creak issue haunts me. However, so far, this Passport is rock solid... as a matter of fact, after putting a few hundred miles on it, it actually rides smoother and the engine "feels" like it is accelerating better than it did at 12 miles when I bought it. I think it is starting to break in and settle in (if those are possible). Like I said in another post, I'm glad to see you on this forum. :)
