Page 172 of the owners manual states:

"When the parking lights or the headlights are
on, turn the fog light switch on to use the fog
lights."

Mine only seem to be on if the headlights are on. Has anyone tried having the foglights on with only the parking lights on>

Strange though that the manual says otherwise.

I see other vehicles that can run only the foglights. Technically if they are clear lens/bulb they are not really foglights.

I work in Automotive Electrical...
The color of the lens does not define if it's a "Fog" lamp or a "driving" lamp. It's how the light beam is transmitted.
Fog lamps mostly are clear (except if your talking the 1970's and 80's when the cheap aftermarket ones were amber/yellow or people would mount the yellow ones that looked like sealed beam lamps in the High-beam sections of 4 lamp headlight cars).
The Fogs are designed to have a narrow but very wide low pattern helping to light up the side of the road more so and directly in front of the vehicle. If you ever put them on, you'll notice more side road light up than without. They are not meant for distance or all you would see is white cloud like fog. (like using your High-beams in heavy fog)

Thank you for your explanation of fog and driving lights. Very informative. I was mis-informed all these years.

Yep. Keeps the kids from cruising the main drag with fogs only.
You mean all those 30-year olds that Honda was targeting? lol
