Is there a way to disable the rain sensing wiper function? Peerhaps something the dealer must do? I find rain sensing wipers very annoying. I'd rather control the intermittent wipers myself.

my wipers handle will go either all the way down or up to disable?
I don’t really pay attention anymore and it’s just second nature, but I have to them off in the garage or I’ll get my hanging snowman who tells me to stop…caught in them.

The wiper handle goes all the way up to disable the automatic wipers.

Yes, as my signature line indicates, I have a 2022 Elite. I realize if I move the leveer to off, the rain sensing feature is disabled since the wipers are completely off. On the Elite models the settings on the wiper stalk are off, auto, high, low. The models that don't have rain sensing are off, int, high, low. I'm looking for a way to disable the rain sensing function to when the wipers are put into th auto mode it functions like a standard intermittent setting and does not let the rain sensor decide when or how fast to activate the wipers.

I want to disable the rain sensing function so when I select an intermittent wiper setting

Isn’t it funny how manufacturers keep adding crap to our vehicles and we keep shutting all/most of them off. I don’t have auto wipers (I think) but if I did I shut those of as well. I’ve turned off the lane departure, cruise control, auto lights and high beams, engine stall and one or two more, I can’t stand that tech stuff

Most of this tech is forced on the auto makers by the government. The latest one they are pushing for is tech that limits the speed of the vehicles to the posted speed limits. And you won’t be able to turn that off. 😡

FWIW, Audi’s implementation of “rain sensing” wipers work well on my wife’s TT. I often forget it’s on and when it starts raining, it just goes.

As much as I hate peoples willingness to give them more control of your life, this is one I might not really have an issue with. The speeds that people are driving at on freeways is crazy, and the accidents that may be caused by these fools are far more dramatic.

What happens if you need to go over the speed limit to avoid getting hit? We have plenty of laws to deal with speeding and reckless driving. This is just another power grab on the part of government in the name of saving us from ourselves.

The rate at which new laws are created, have become out of control. Creating laws because some people are just stupid and act like 5 yr olds, slowly chips away your freedom.

If they really wanted to reduce vehicle related deaths, they would make the auto manufacturers and cell phone carriers, both shutdown the device and the vehicle once the vehicle is in motion. Phone distraction while driving is a huge killer! But, no way this would ever happen... why, because of $$$$$.
