Has anyone successfully mounted any side welcome lights (OEM or aftermarket) with the die cast running boards?

I know they aren’t supposed to be compatible, but they also said that fender flairs and mud flaps weren’t compatible, but I have seen those successfully mounted in another post.

I live in a rural area yet within a 20 mile radius have access to at three different stores that cater to accessorizing cars / trucks / SUVs.
Find something similar and pay them a visit; estimates are generaly FREE.
