Just wanted to pass the word on my experience with detailing heavy water spots and trim. I used Chemical Bros. Heavy Water gel, and VRP trim gel. I don't get any $$$ from Chemical Bros, and won't post any links... use google... this is free post.

Heavy Water: We are on a well water system, and the sprinklers came on and got on the hood, leaving some pretty nasty white marks on the hood. I used the Heavy Water Gel, and at first was impressed. The gel did take away the white spots, but while in the sun you can see where the paint has been "damaged" by the water... (1) wipe on and then I washed it through a automatic car wash... when I got back to the shade, there was residue left behind (kinda looked like dried soap) but, did rub out/off. On the back of the bottle it says to after wiping, wash or use their butter wax. IMO, the hood felt like it needed a quick wax job. Im not sure if Id had spent a little more time buffing the gel more but, didn't want to burn off the clear coat (if that's even possible with this product). *Barely used about 1/4 of the bottle for just the hood. *(Overall, Id give it 3 stars out of 5. Only because, Im not sure if Im going to have to put on an additional treatment or not and a possible wax job).

VRP Trim Gel: VRP is thick gel *(if you've used Mothers gel, it's kinda just like it). It goes on thick, and where I live *(rurally) Im going to pick up a lot of dust dirt with normal oily sprays. I will say in advance... (1) the 2019 and Im sure through 2022 has lots of nooks and folded trim that you need a rag or a thin sponge to apply. especially with the honeycomb front grill, side mirrors. I also needed something to trim the middle window pillar pieces, (something oily was stained on the trim and wanted to see if it could be treated...) good news is that it worked, kinda. (the middle pillar trim, between the two windows took the trim gel, but it looked like that it was brushed on and not just one pass. had to rub additional coatings (maybe 3 passes) to look universal. I also had a hard time with windshield wiper holding area... too many little squares to wipe the gel into. But, the gel also sparked up the metal wiper blade arms (both front and back). *(Overall, Id give it 4.5 stars out 5. It works well, but the passport has so many nooks that I kinda wish there was a low viscosity spray, and a super low sticky blue type tape to tape off hard to coat trim areas.

Hope this helps!

I use rubbing compound. Any brand should do. Rub in circular motion, let dry to a light glaze, wipe off or use Orbital. Nice spotless shine afterwards. Just remember not to let it dry too long or it will want to stay! Add a little water and it will come off a little easier, but will get less shine. Do small sections at a time.
