I have seen one of those in person and I was really surprised at how much larger it is compared to the previous model. It is substantially upgraded and far nicer than anything comparable to it.

This may be a Passport website but I think we're open to hearing about anything along these lines 👍

They do look great we were planning on getting one as a second car but they wanted 4k over msrp "market adjustment" for them at our dealership by us... what model is that one and what did they charge?
Kirkland Honda and she paid $2500 over for the EX-L. I didn’t want her to pay anything over cause I know the car game, but she said I was ruining her first car purchase. I told her I’m doing what every dad would do for their daughter, but compared to other local dealers they were the cheapest. I think they resemble the Porsche SUV’s especially from the front
Vehicle Vehicle registration plate Tire Car Grille

I washed it for her today then took it for a drive to take some pics for her, I took twelve because I wanted to make her a old school calendar of her car. It actually has a very smooth ride, plenty of room in all seats (6’1”), surprised how much room I had in the drivers seat when I lowered it as low as it would go, I could actually move the seat forward in that lowered position and real nice interior. My only dislike is the CVT, mostly what people have said about them and what my very trustworthy mechanic has said.

Looks lovely and futuristic. It's a good choice as a starter car. Congratulations to your daughter.
Considering the fact that Honda has used this dash design for three vehicles now (Civic, CR-V & HR-V) I believe that next generation of Pilot/Passport will probably have a similar dashboard design inclusive of the floating audio display and the full length honey comb vents. Other than the interior, if Honda adds Jewel Eyes headlights, full size center console armrest and the tailgate brake lights to the future Passport, it will be aesthetically complete.

The 2023 HR-v is as tall(ish) as last year's CR-v.
As a dad, I've learned how to undo the "you're ruining the experience" moments.
I would have told her not to buy it, too, then I would have insisted on paying the $2,500 for her.
I might not be her friend on social media, but I'm connected to her on Venmo.

They never leave completely, nor would we want them to, right?

The European one really looks like a Mecan.

I'm seeing these all over the place. I first noticed a red Sport model at Walmart a week or two ago. Hot and sharp, great young person's car. Then I looked up the price, yikes, I think a RAV4 LE is a better candidate.

Pretty sure my neighbor's daughter got the exact same car over the weekend. Looks like a great car to start out with, it's like a lifted sedan. Just shows how the Crosstour was ahead of its time. I think when they hybridize it, that will be the one to get.

You're a good dad and best of luck to your daughter with the new HRV.

@Tadakatsu, how about creating an Other Cars and Trucks section on the forum?

I was sad to see the elimination of the Magic Seat in the 2023 HR-V.

I'd spend $4,450 more for a CR-V and get

  • A much more powerful engine
  • Power tailgate
  • LED fog lights
  • Quieter, smoother ride
  • More interior space
  • Better fuel economy (yes - the larger, heavier, more powerful CR-V gets better fuel economy than the HR-V)
  • Still has a radar unit so ACC, FCW, and CMBS can function in low-visibility conditions vs. the HR-V's camera-only system

I think the HR-V is too close to the price of the CR-V now and I certainly couldn't bring myself to pay $31,195+ TT&L for an entry-level automobile. That's nuts. :)

The 2023 HR-V has all the safety nannies the 2023 CR-V has except "Cross-Traffic Alert", but IMO that is not a big deal. The engine power difference between both vehicles is also negligible, same applies to fuel economy, 2 MPG is not a deal breaker. For peace of mind I would actually take the naturally aspirated 2.0L engine in the HR-V over the turbocharged 1.5L engine in the CR-V.

As far as engine preference I would take the 2.0 over the 1.5T as well, its the CVT I have an issue with. I tried to talk her into the CRV Hybrid but she didn’t like it and I think her brother owning one she didn’t want the same. It’s her money she can get what she want, I’m just there to get her the best deal.

Does the CRV have a CVT ?

This was the reason I bought the Passport instead of the 2017 CR-V. We drove a 2023 HR-V here the other day and we're buying one for my wife. Now that the CR-V is coming to Canada as a hybrid in 2023 I may get one as it uses the 2.0 l. non-turbo as well.
