Creaking backseat when I go from a stop to moving...

This has been an issue for a while and just turned the music up not to hear it. Today, I stopped about 6 times trying to find it.

When I’m at a stop and press the gas pedal to go there is a creaking sound from the backseat. It sounds like my grandmas old mustang.

I checked the cargo area, nothing there, adjusted, folded, pushed, almost jumped all over the backseat. It's certainly creaking there. Any ideas?

I love how quiet the ride is and sometimes I just want to turn the noises off and enjoy the silence. Hence why this is driving me crazy!!! ?

Time for a back seat driver.

Is one of the seat belt buckles rubbing something? Did you peek into the tire storage well? Something in the overhead glasses bin? Glove and/or cargo bins?

It’s definitely the seat because if I push on it I can hear the creaking?
Try to localize, is it the
Seat back left, right or armrest?
Seat bottom?

Then try repositioning the creaking one up, down, forward, rearward.

its both sides of the backseat. Back and bottom, including the center and the center armrest.

I moved the entire seat back and forth, folded it down, put it back up, locked it, unlocked it. All multiple times!
Maybe the seat undercarriage isn't properly tightened to the floor, ask the service dept to look/ listen the next time you have it in for an Earl change.

In the interim give these a try:

That’s hopefully the issue. And I will only go back to my dealer if my engine falls out...I go to a family owned Honda/Acura shop and hate to bother them with this.

Will see what I can tighten and then what I can’t will get my neighbor to help me. He’s a car geek like me.
You might also want to spray on some lithium grease on the catch mechanism under the seat. Lowe's or Home Depot seals it for lubricating the rails of garage doors that squeak, it dries so it's not messy. I believe 3 In 1 Oil makes it. Could be a cheap fix to get your serenity back!

Good idea. I have a can of the oil spray, I live by the beach, so constantly using it on my garage door and apartment windows.

I tried flipping the seats up from the folded position to get underneath them, but was not able to figure that out? Do you know if they pop up? Or should I just try to get some spray underneath them from the back side of the seat adjacent to the car space side?
Don't quote me on this but I don't believe our PP rear seat bottoms flip up, nor are they easily removable.
Yesterday we replaced the previously removed middle row seats in my brides Ody, what a heavy cumbersome process this is. I suppose with them removed you can carry an extra 100 pounds,

Our friends T&C is much nicer, they just tumble into the floor, similar to the Ody's rear seat.
I believe Wrascal is correct, in that the seats are not easily removable. I think you're going to have to use a flashlight and hopefully you have a straw attachment on your spray oil so you can target where to spray and not to spray. Hopefully they didn't confiscate those type of straws from you good people.

Shhh...don‘t tell our governor about those kinds of straws! He might have missed them in the new law.

Actually, good thought when this can runs out, I’ll keep that tiny little straw and reuse it because I’m sure that’s next! In California, people can camp on public streets and in parks and do meth on the street corner, but NO STRAWS! ?‍♀

Great idea. I’ll work on that tomorrow.

When plastic straws are outlawed only outlaws will have plastic straws.

I had this exact issue and went to the dealership for it. They had to order another seat mount. Noise went away when they installed it.

Thanks - good to know. I will cross that bridge if spraying with a lubricant oil and tightening anything I can access doesn’t fix it.m
In the meantime visit a community college and pickup a couple of hunks. Seat them in the rear.
Or do what I do ...I use a puppy (shown here in my former CRV).

That’s funny! The kids are all on a Thanksgiving break.

and that’s why I was almost jumping on the seat, thinking something wasn’t locked in?

Thanks for that info. I hear a creaking noise, too, from the backseat area, but it‘s only noticeable when turning into my driveway. I’ll ask my dealer about it.
