Is there a cover for underneath the vehicle, someone pointed out that there are exposed wires underneath the back of the vehicle.

That looks like the good old C-601 connector. There were issues with early 2017 Ridgelines and part or both parts of that harness needed to replaced or add a bypass wire due to water intrusion. The source of the intrusion wasn't at the location pictured though. It does look like a vulnerable position.. I would just tape it up a little with Rodent tape. On my Passport one of those wires looks really stretched but haven't had any issues.

A good product for such applications is wrap around heat shrink tape. You could cover the connector and seal it, but still have it accessible if needed in the future.

I wonder if evaporation of moisture on this product is the reason it is left uncovered? I'm not saying not to cover, just that perhaps a breathable covering might be better?

My understanding is those wires could be submerged and the connector would be dry. However, those wires look ultra thin, fragile and if nicked then the capillary action starts.

I saw that and thought it was a vulnerable area too. I don't know if it helps, but I did wrap those wires with silicone tape.

I just coated things up well with a di-electrical grease. Did the same with the rear backup lights as they are fully exposed too. Wrapping with tape might actually help retain moisture. And should there be a problem down the road, I'm sure Honda will say the the tape/covering is to blame. Will probably do a coating this each spring and fall - they love road salt around here!!!
