Climate Control Panel is not Backlit?

I have a 2019 Passport. The climate control panel is not backlit which is somewhat challenging when it's dark. Is this typical? The instrument panel behind the steering wheel is backlit as is the LCD on the Radio unit and the intensity is controllable via the +- buttons. But not the climate control panel. And no, I don't have all the buttons memorized so I can hit them in the dark. 😝😆

On my EX-L if I have the headlights turned off, my controls are not backlit. I only discovered this the other day after an oil change, apparently it’s normal for the honda team to turn off the headlights hah! On the way home from dinner we realized we couldn’t see the climate controls or anything on the road as it was too dark.
Wow. Mystery solved. 🤣 That's exactly what happened to me. I took it to the dealer twice, for the manufacturer recall fix for the fuel pump. Then, I had to drive early in the morning before sunup and I noticed that I could not see the buttons for the climate controls or the radio unit and I could not remember for sure if it had always been this way. I mean, after all, the instrument panel lights were on. Obviously, I didn't have have my headlights on? The interstate highway is lit up with a brilliance resembling the sun and it seems I didn't notice that I had no headlights on because I was squinting from the street lights. 😜 Yeeeehaaaaa. I tested just now and the backlighting for the climate controls and radio does work. With the headlights on, that is. I feel a bit foolish. 🤭🙄🤪 Thank you for your help with this issue. 😊
