Anyone added a remote start system to their PP? I had a Compustar set up on my Accord and loved it. Our current cars (20 RDX and 19 Lexus) have cell start capabilities. I’m feeling unlikely this will get added to the 22 refresh…but, I’ll hold my breath.

My Elite has remote start capability built in...

Yes, all Passports have the remote start as standard equipment, but I think the OP is referring to the fact that we (sadly) don't have a remote start feature from the HondaLink app. I love my PPE, but I think it's horrible that Honda bought it to market without remote start on the Honda Link app.

The Honda Link app dose have Remote start. You have to pay a $110.00 per year subscription. They also offer Security for $89/yr and Concierge for $260/yr. Sadly, Honda wants to charge you out the wazoo for what others offer for free.

The Honda Link app does have remote start but not for the Passport, which makes it basically useless IMO.

Only way to get cell phone remote start is to get an aftermarket starter installed. I got Comupustar with drone mobile installed and it works amazingly well. There's a specific harness for the newer Hondas so you have takeover functionality and even tailgate control.

I'm almost certain the original title of this post did not have "cell phone" in its title...

I had Evo Start 2 installed at the dealership for 550$ CDN. I now have an app to start the car with no monthly fees. It confirms when the car is on and inside temperature. Had runtime adjusted to 15 minutes + 15 minutes without turning the car off. I know it’s an extra add on that wasn’t necessary, but it gets really cold in winter and like the car to be toasty. Looks like this

I had the Drone Mobile installed. It is a phone app only control. The version I got does not have a separate fob. It appears to work well so far, I have not used it a lot yet as the weather is still warm.
Basic plan is about $60 a year and goes up deepens on how many features you want.

This is the same system I had on my Accord coupe…really liked it.

Show me a company that gives you cell phone remote start for free…outside of a trial period. You and I have different views of “wazoo”. My Lexus charges about $100 yearly for the service…well worth it to me.

I stand corrected. I mistakenly remembered the security feature that was available for a trial period with the HondaLink for the remote start. Personally the key fob start feature would be sufficient for me, I would not feel confident with starting my car from a distance that I can't see it. I've been driving for 45 years without it, I think I can survive. Not to mention that everything is hackable.
And yes seeing that your avatar is a Acura and that you drive a Lexus our views on what a wazoo is different. The most expensive vehicle I've ever owned is the Passport Elite I'm presently driving. But its paid for in full, along with the wife's 2018 CR-V, and my house and everything else I have.
I am truly glad that the services you have are well worth it to you. Wish you all the best.

I added the Compustar with the Drone app and it works great. The Compustar unit allows for fobs if you like them and Drone allows you to use your phone. I've found I don't actually use the aftermarket remotes, just the factor fob. If I need to remote start I use the Drone app. The Drone app is nice as it allows you to check status of the vehicle (for instance... you're sitting in a restaurant thinking... did I lock the vehicle? ) It was a little pricey and you do have to pay for the Drone service, however, with a 5 year plan on the Drone it got pretty cheap. Plus, considering the cost of any number of the Passport options, I just added it to the overall cost. Very glad I did it. Hope this helps.

My car locks automatically once I get about 20 feet away from it, doesn't your PP have that feature?

It does, however I have it turned off as I found it more of a negative that a positive, especially when working around the vehicle, hitching/loading the trailer/bicycles, etc. Although admittedly that's just personal preference. On a related note, another feature of the Drone app I just used today is the GPS tracking feature. Not a feature I use all the time, however, was coming out of a state fair, in the dark this evening through ~ 1/4 of fairgrounds followed by ~1/4 mile of parked cars. Couldn't find my vehicle. So, started the app and it walked me right to the vehicle. Again, not an everyday feature, but helped in this situation. Good luck in your decision.

I have it on all my Fords, I have an escape and an F250 for my company and I can remote start both of them with the free app. I do not need to purchase anything or subscribe to anything
