i dont use cordless charger but do use apple car play so cable needs to be plugged in. i thought it was crowed in the cupholder area all the time so i did this. i had the short iphone charging cord already but ordered a "cell phone/tablet wall mount /holder. i did not use the "command strips" that came w it. i did use "3M" clear 2 sided adhesive strips that i cut to fit the bracket, cleaned area and applied it . see pics. it is also in a-lot easier to get charging cord into phone w/o all the slack. hope the tape lasts lol. see pics. the mounts frm amazon, "koala mounts , www.dockem.com. $15.99 for the mount.

I believe thats a pretty good solution - but would serve my wife even better; when riding along she often sticks her phone in the door where it inevitably falls out when opening/closing the door.
One question: will it accommodate phones with protective cases?

i tried both of my protective cases and it fit. i bought this on amazon. there is also a hook underneath to grap excess cable if you want to. i just wanted cup holders free and wanted to keep the usb area clear for my wallet, eyeglasses,etc

Disregard the question, it allows up to 13mm (a tad over 0.5 inch) in thickness.
Amazon has version 2 ($16.19 shipped/ in black or white) which additionally includes some double-sided tape.
Mine will be here Friday. I also ordered a pair of short cables - hopefully they'll be quality ones (never can tell until its too late).

Why not just sit your phone on the wireless charging pad? That’s what I do with a short cable as well, so it’s not messy. And I don’t have any issues with the wireless and usb cable fighting to override each other?
I also put in the little pocket stylist pads. It was like playing with legos putting them all in! ??

i think the double sided tape they send is more for indoor use. not up for changing temps in ur car.".....i guessing. i did not use tape that came w it
i shut off the wireless charger altogether. i put my wallet up there now and my sunglasses . i'm old i have to have all important stuff right in front of me lol

i had 2 pieces left over i think its for the rear air/heat controls in the lower trim models . they have little shelves there. look for pics of this area in the lower trim models.

Amen Brother, Amen. Us old folks gotta have that wallet handy so you can show the cop your drivers license when you get pulled over for driving 25 mph in a 40 mph zone.
Maybe I got a special passport, but mine has a glasses holder in front of the sun roof controls and my wallet stays in my pants pocket. Nothing quite as embarrassing as going to buy something only to have to go out to the car to retrieve your wallet that you forgot when you got out of your car to go into the store.
I found that when driving the important stuff is a steering wheel and a clean windshield in front of me.
