My 2019 Passport AWD Elite was the first Honda I ever owned. And the last Honda I'll every own. I have never been exposed to such horrible customer service from any company before. My Passport had a glaring defect. The car would turn on in the middle of the night, lights flashing, radio blaring, and a dead battery in the morning. It was bizarre. So when we had AAA come out and start it, they barely could. The battery was registering 7amps. This car had 20,000 miles on it. So we get it started and drive it directly to the dealer on a Sunday night drop off. Monday morning, I drive my husband over there so he can tell them why the Passport was in the service driveway and have them get him a loaner so he could go to work. Nope. They don't give loaners out UNTIL they know what is wrong. I told them what was wrong. It was defective. So I had to go psycho for them to get a loaner for my husband and send us out of there. It took 10 days before they knew what was wrong. And 14 days before the car was finished. It was a DEFECTIVE REMOTE ENTRY system and they had to completely replace it. The car got totaled out 6 months later sitting on the freeway in traffic. The insurance gave me $46,000 for it and I went out and bought a VW ATLAS Sport SEL. Love it. Three days after we got the ATLAS, we picked up a screw in the sidewall tire and took the car back to VW. They said no problem, we'll replace that tire for you right away and sent us on the road without charging us. Bumper to Bumper warranty. I had picked up a screw in the sidewall of the one of the tires on the Passport and Honda said sorry, you have to buy a new tire. And good riddance Honda. Their customer service is just terrible. So far, I'm loving VW. Take care folks. I'm leaving this forum to join the VW forum.

Sorry you had a lemon, it happens, I guess, but please understand that many, many people here don't share your opinion. There is a number of Passport owners who DUMPED their VW's for Passports and are equally happy.

Historically, VW's have been plagued with low reliability rates, low resale values and large numbers of design flaws.

I wish you luck with your VW, I would not own one if you put a gun to my head!

Take care..

Good luck with your VW, because you’ll need it. I traded my lemon 2018 Tiguan for the Passport. VW has has had a lot of head gasket failures on that motor. I was a long time VW owner and had several VW lemons. VW is the worse company to deal with and when things go bad they will do absolutely nothing. The resale value is non existent.

Sorry to hear about your past Honda Passport issue. I am glad you like VW Atlas. I am sure it drives very well as most German Cars do. Just make sure you keep on top of maintenance for VW, I think it'll be fine.

Why was @Debbiepratto banned? Was it because she shared her negative experience and opinion about her Passport?

Let's not bury our heads in the sand here - Honda's customer service is poor and build quality is spotty - particularly on models made at Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (Pilot, Ridgeline, Odyssey, and Passport).

No recent Honda owner can deny that "they ain't what they used to be" while the quality of other brands like VW has improved.

People get upset. It happens, especially if a new Car with so much money keeps giving problems with no resolution. Not everyone handles stress the same way and some people vent/react with anger when customer service does nothing and keeps passing the buck. I am not supporting that behavior but I am also not supporting banning someone just because they vented against a Car company. Do remember that most of Hondas built now are in the USA compared to past ones from Japan. I still have my 2011 Honda CRV from Japan and the tolerance/looks/robustness is much better than the brand new 2021 Passport I have.

I checked the rules and the mods can do whatever they want and the forum doesn't claim to be a Democracy. So basically, it's a fanboy site where the norm is "congratulations on your Passport, nice color." As soon as someone mentions a problem they are quickly depicted as being someone in the minority and "stuff happens." The other day I posted some pics of some window trim that didn't line up (way off) and then the thread was closed.

Leaving Honda thinking you'll get better customer service and better reliability out of Volkswagen?

According to owner surveys submitted to Consumer Reports, Honda's most reliable model is the HR-V which hecho en Mexico.

VW's most reliable model - the Golf was made in Puebla, Mexico.

11833

Want a reliable vehicle? Get a Mazda built in Japan.

Correct. Volkswagen Chattanooga Assembly Plant makes the Passat, Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport, and forthcoming ID.4.

I don't know why they were banned as I did not ban them, it may have been due to a violation of the terms of service and usage for this website or perhaps the banned member requested to be banned?

That being said I am going to close this thread because it is going nowhere fast.

FWIW it is funny that I read this thread today as just before I did I had a customer that came in to look at a Passport Elite because their VW Atlas was going through a manufacturer buyback. VW has been sending me a lot of business in recent years.
