Has anyone done any comparisons or research on Wiper Blades?

Mine are getting bad, may need replacing soon, just wanted to see what you all consider the best ones..

Cheers..

Buy the replacement OEM insert versus replacing the entire wiper blade. It is more cost effective at approximately $6/each.

I too am partial to the OEM blades BUT that'd necessitate either a 20 mile trip or pre-planning (amazon).
I've been known to just pick some up while shopping; they've always been good enough that I didn't feel they were a total waste.
I always used the Costco ones on my CRV and they were great.

Are you not garage parking in OC? That will break them down.
Or maybe I haven’t driven in the rain to know if mine are bad!
We've got 4 days next week, so you best get ’er done.
If I used anything other than the OEM blade on the rear window on my Chevy Equinox it would scratch the glass, so I’m scared to use an aftermarket blade back there.
The OEM ones on my Accord lasted for almost 6 years and so when I need a new set for the PP, I'm gonna go with OEM.

6 years on a set of wiper blades??!? That's gotta be a record!! :D
In wet PNW, my vehicles get a new set of wiper blades each fall. Not much snow/ice, or blistering heat around here to damage the blade, but they get used alot with our wet weather.
As ProdGirl stated, I too buy 'em cheap at Costco, about $6 ea (some years they are branded Michelin, sometimes Goodyear, but likely all from the same factory )

No snow and ice around here and even rain came only once in a blue moon with the drought we were having. I kept expecting to have to change them but on the rare occasion when we got any weather around here, they worked great.
I'm lucky if mine last six months without streaking.

Did you get some new wipers before our rain started up again?
No, not yet, I am a bit hesitant to get new blades going into summer, as they can severely dry out and bake over the summer, especially when my car sits outside all the time. But the existing ones are not whipping well, I may try to clean the windshield and apply something like Rain-X to see if a better "sheen" helps.

But if not, I plan to buy some new ones, around next fall/winter.
What! It’s been raining for several days!
How are you able to drive around and see? Or are you staying safer at home and not driving?
Duh, I'm sheltering in place, 4 of the last 6 days have not left except to walk the dog. Yesterday AM, I went to Crema Cafe on Seal Beach Blvd, have you you ever been there, they have the best bread, I can't eat grocery store beard anymore...!
Good job at listening to the orders! Don’t be that guy at the beach with all his friends...

I have not been to that cafe! I will for sure check it out when this is over.
Since I lost ALL work for what looks like the rest of the year, I’m not spending more than I need. So no take out or even coffee outside my kitchen.

An old tip to sort of "refresh" wiper blades is to fold a piece of fine sandpaper, such as 220 grit, and slide the sandpaper over the wiping edges of each wiper blade. It usually works to fix streaking.
Just thought of you two OC Super Mods, because ...
I just got off the phone with my GG mother - and she's complaining about the rain!

Ha! I love the rain!
I was trying to move to Coastal Oregon this year before my work fell off the calendar.
My neighbor friends are over it though.

Actually, I drove to 5 stores yesterday (to get just two different meals for the week), and my original wipers work fantastic!!

Yeah, it rained for 1-1/2 to 2 days straight, couldn't even walk my dog yesterday.

I learned to hate the rain at an early age, I had a paper route when I was 13 and it was miserable delivering in the rain on a sting ray...
