All good info. Heading out today to do battle for an Elite. Hoping to leave OTD at 42500-43000 .
Question on the Military $500 rebate. Is it an instant rebate right there on the spot? Thanks

Yes, it should be shown on the PO as a discount.

But the discount is only if you finance through Honda.
Hey Jaxx, if you are in the military and not already a member of the Navy Federal Credit Union, you can join on-line for $5, then use their Car Buying Service.

I did this in March, when none of the local dealers would sell any lower than full MSRP and got a Touring model for approx. $2,600 under MSRP.

A lot of people have gotten better deals than this since then, but it kinda depends on your area.

Good luck and thank you for your service!

Awe crap. Its always something. I was gonna write a check for the whole thing. I try to make these things simple and easy as possible, but somehow there always seems to be a way to make these deals drag out and take hours. Even if I did finance, my fico is off the charts, my credit score is better than perfect and yet they will still wanna make things difficult. ...I dont know sometimes. UGHHHHHHH.

Anyway, thanks for the info. Heading out in 15 min and should be at the dealer by 10;00...

Yes, I am a member of Navy Federal and VyStar(the old Jax Navy Credit union), but like I said, Im paying cash(check). Appreciate the thanks as well.
Also ask for Costco discount if member. That is instant and then get 50% off accessories. Register through Costco and then a list of Costco dealers will populate. Some dealers might match Costco price even if not official dealer. May the force be with you!

I doesn't matter how you pay, I did not finance thru them, I simply used their buying service. I used it to get the best price, go to their on-line car buying service, and enter the vehicle you want and then serch for local dealers who use the NFCU pricing, there is no haggling, they pull out a price sheet and show you what the price is.

Like I said, by now and depending on your area, you may be able to get a better price without using the NFCU, but it's nice to know as a baseline, especially if you are paying cash.

Another note: Dealers don't really care about cash, they get their money anyway (even when financed).. So cash does not have the power it once did. Let us know how it goes...

Yea, i know cash doesnt matter to them. I actually think they prefer that you finance... We'll see. About to pull into dealership now......
Cool can you stream the whole process live?

(lol)
Are you a USAA member? I got over 4000 below MSRP on a touring using a combo of USAA//True Car and Costco prices.

Nicely executed!

Oh if I did you guys would have loved it. Just got back, with a 45 min lunch at Olive Garden thrown in(barf). We hit 5 dealers. One that said last week they would hold a White Elite, but didnt have it any longer. Another had none on the lot but he could get me one in an hour( he lied , I know this because we hit all the other dealers within an hours drive). Drove to St. Augustine, about 30 min away for one that the dealer Ive been texting all week said he had one.... Got there and it was all dirty and had 300 miles on it, turns out he had it driven up from Orlando because he said the other one sold.(sure).
Drove back up north and Got into it with a lady manager. I asked for a plain white passport Elite, no extras... then they come out with a passport Elite with all the extras. ughhhhhhhhh

It was worse than Jerry trying to buy a car from David Puddy.
I went thru the run around as well. Looked for almost 2 months for a Touring in Modern Steele from February to mid April. I live in So Cal., still working in San Jose since 2/3/19, didn't want to pay No. Cal., sales tax. So I was looking in So Cal., AZ and NV.

NO modern steel touring anywhere. I finished a project assignment in San Jose was going home for half a day on April 13 before my next gig, and the night prior the dealer right by where I lived called with a Modern Steel Elite, they said they could hold it until Noon on Saturday. I left San Jose about 2am.

Got there about 10am, the Passport was a dirty mess, still had plastic covering it, and with only 3 miles on the odometer. I was able to negotiate very little due to the inventory, I got a 7 year extended warranty for the price of the 6 year and a few hundred off the Kahu GPS tracker system the dealer installs and some sort of spray paint protection, as well as $1000 off MSRP if I financed thru Honda corp. I was ready to write a check as well. Finance is $110/month, so I am just going to finance for 6 months to help my credit. I have no bills so credit isn't the best and I am also trying to buy a home for the last 6 years! :ROFLMAO:

It's a great color - been about that color on my 4 other Honda's and never had any complaints.

Yeah, as long as you finance through them. :) The Honda finance guy I worked with was not too pleased to find out I was using a credit union for my financing.
