Hello my fellow Passport audio fans. Does anyone have the wire schematic for the speakers? Here’s my plan. Tie into the front channel and run those wires to the back where my new amp will be. Run through an LC7i to my amp. Go from the output of the amp and run it right back and tie into the wires that go to the door speakers. Those will be upgraded. I will also take the wire from the sub and do the same. Not planning on do anything with the rear speakers at this time. Are the front door speakers and tweeter on separate channels or tied into the same front channel. My car is a 2022 EXL. Thanks in advance

So the amp for the any EXL or above Passport is in the rear kick panel in the trunk area. The difference being that for 2022 the Elite has a higher powered factory amp and 10 speaker outs compared to 7 speakers for the Trailsport and EXL models. For the tweeter wiring. I am not sure if it's active or passive crossovers. It probably makes it easier for you to wire it that way. What amp will you be using? I'm a big advocate for DSPs since the Honda factory eq is pretty heavy on the bass rolloff at higher volumes, but that does bump costs up quite a bit. Definitely need to disconnect the ANC module located behind the glove box if you plan replace the sub. I think the wiring diagram is already somewhere on the forum, but I forget which thread it's in...

Edit:
Looking at the diagram I have, the tweeters for the EXL don't have separate wiring from the amp so it's likely a passive crossover. The signal going to the front speakers is probably full range then.

Sorry, I'm not sure, I had a shop do my DSP Amp install and I have no idea what they used as an Output from the OEM stereo to Input into the Amp, but however they did it, it is SUPER CLEAN sounding.

The Audison AP F8.9 Amp (which I am running and HIGHLY recommend) has the ability to use out-going speaker wires as an Input and can DE-EQUALIZE the signal, then use it a the source for all channels being outputted...

I’m not sure on the amp. Probably Alpine as I’ve always had good results. I’m still trying to figure pic I want to go wild or mild. I like to have a clear front stage and im
Not sure if just a speaker upgrade will suffice. The ANC will definitely be disconnected and the doors and other parts sound deadened. If I decide to go the more mild route, is there a component set you’d recommend in the front tat would work with the factory amp?

I tried two pair of $400 (ea) Focals, front & rear and they sounded bad. My thoughts are doing a minimal upgrade with sound $200 (or less) Infinity or JBL's will sound better than the OEM ones, and those 2ohm Audison component set might be the best to try (for Elite/Touring), but otherwise, a full on new amp is needed.

Reason is that the Touring/Elite OEM Stereo has DSP, which is tuned (optimized) to work with the OEM speaker (frequencies) capabilities and if you swap other speakers into the system, the electronic crossovers can't be re-adjusted...

I think the EX-L uses 4ohm speakers. Normally I would say Audison APK 165 2ohm component set, but not sure if that would play nice with the factory amplifier. Audison is pretty pricey in the US too... I imported my set from Germany (car feature.de on recommendation from StevenD way back) to get a better price. The EX-L doesn't need a crazy DSP or amplifier with tons of channels since it's currently wired for 5 channels with them being Front door/tweeter, rear doors, and sub.

An option that might work well for you would be the kicker key 200.4 amp and the kicker 500.1 if you don't want to do a lot of tuning yourself. You would need a 4ohm set of components and the sub choice would depend on how much bass you want. Another option could be the JBL DSP4086 if you wanted the option for more channels later and you want to tune things yourself as well as the ability to use a 2ohm component set.

Doing the work yourself, if you know how and are comfortable, really opens up options since labor is pretty expensive. Paid $850 for my install and unfortunately got charged for extra tuning because they didn't read the Audison set up procedure correctly 😒
