So I have a 2019 Honda Passport Elite I bought last year and finally got around into looking into the AT&T Hotspot feature (doing a little traveling and telework so the hotspot would be nice). Anyways so I go through the Honda Link site and activation the AT&T Hotspot service for my suv (with my vin) and it says it’s active but when I use the infotainment center I get the service not supported error below. Any ideas on how to fix this? I saw another thread in the Honda Pilot forums regarding the same issue but it didn’t offer any solutions other than going through Honda Support. Anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong with it and how to fix it?

Your post intrigued me so I went to our Touring model and when I touch the AT&T Hotspot icon I get a very nice display that asks if I want to set it up. The user guide of course lists this feature as "some models" and while I'd assume the Elite is one of those, perhaps not? Also, why does your pic show "2018 Honda Odys" in the banner? Something seems not right. DId you buy it used? Feels like maybe you have a wrong software/firmware installation for your Passport.

As an aside, I guess our PP has a cellular modem built-in and so we can buy yet-another AT&T plan for it if we want. We already have such for our iPhones and wife's Apple Watch! Don't need a vehicle hotspot!

P.S. On our window sticker is "Mobile Hotspot Capability" and the Elite model should absolutely have it according to Honda's press kit, where it is called "Embedded 4G LTE WiFi".

I activated mine not long after I bought my Passport. It took about an hour of bouncing between Honda and AT&T websites to figure out how to add it to my AT&T account. It was a very frustrating experience.

Now, if I could only get my iPhone to switch off of my home wireless to the hotspot when I'm in my driveway, I'd be golden.

If I may, what did it add to your monthly? Our Apple Watch was about $15/mo with tax & etc iirc.

If you don’t have wireless service from att, then you have to purchase a monthly plan from them. They wanted $ 60 plus tax for this service, I did have att service when I purchased my PP and it was $20 a month, never got it to work as it was designed to, so I gave up on both and now have Altice service from my cable company. Use my Bluetooth and I don’t have any worries, nor an extra bill.....
Good luck

I struggle with the utility and value of this feature. If one needs a hotspot at all, IMO the best way to get it is to have a smartphone with a plan that provides same. Then you have it everywhere, not just in your vehicle. And does the PP's modem do only AT&T? It would seem so...(n)

I have an unlimited data plan for my family, and four phones conned to it. Even though it is unlimited, if one of us uses too much data, it slows us all down, so I find it useful to have a hotspot in the car.

I just set up the ATT hotspot for the 90 trial. Every time I tried to connect to the SSID, my iPhone kept saying that the network name could not be found. Tried numerous times, and resorted to calling Honda. While on hold, I noticed a very faint, greyed out power icon on the upper right of the Passport’s hotspot screen. Touched the icon and it changed to green. I’m able to connect now. So if anyone else runs into the same problem, touch that darn power icon which is barely noticeable. 🙄

Glad to see I’m not the only one that missed this! I was able to set the SSID and find the network ID in Wifi but when I input the password it just says iPhone can’t connect. There is a o or O or 0 in the password that I think is a O but all other characters are obvious. Anyone else having issues connecting (after power is green)? And yes it is activated. Well I figured this out too. Went to settings, Wi-Fi and gave it a password. I was trying to use the one displayed already by the system. It’s all good now
