Try it on one at your dealers. I use my X in my F150 daily. My passport is on order.
then maybe it is my phone, or car play usb port, i have done all the things you have mentioned and then some lolI have an iPhone X and CarPlay works great — I was listening to a podcast from it this evening. You have to use the port in front of the cup holders (I would prefer it to be inside the console like in the CRV, but oh well). Also, you may have to unlock your phone, although there’s an option to use it without unlocking it. I plug in the phone, then the CarPlay “icon” on the display becomes available. Press it and there it is.
thanks for input. i did reset info system, carplay works ok but siri dosent work at all. im gonna go to dealer and the guy there has a iphone x and then we will see.I would first try another phone, and if that didn’t work, reset the head-unit / display / stereo / back to factory settings. That will be a bit of pain because you’ll have to reprogram all your settings, but if it still doesn’t work after that, then I’d take it back to the dealer and make them prove to you that it’s not defective. Looks like several others have reported that it’s working fine for them, so it’s not an overall “Passport” issue. I had CarPlay in the 2017 CR-V Touring that was traded-in for the Passport, and it, too, worked fine, although in the Passport it’s much more responsive.
Good luck!
No, but that's a good idea. I will try that. It's not like the carplay connection drops out, it's just the microphone.Sorry Phil, I have the same phone (Ten) and have only used it with carplay a few times, but each time it has worked fine, with no issues (or mic cutting out)... Have you tried switching USB Cables?
I have this exact same problem where I'm on the phone (iPhone Xs; iOS 12.3.1) plugged into the front USB on CarPlay and the person on the other end just stops hearing me. Sometimes it happens right as I answer a call and they can't hear me. Sometimes it happens after a few minutes of talking. Also happens over Bluetooth. Did you ever find a solution? No, but that's a good idea. I will try that. It's not like the carplay connection drops out, it's just the microphone.
I have an iPhone 8 Plus and have the same issues with the touring model.I am having issues with my iPhone X and the microphone cutting out. I will be in the middle of a call, and he person on the other end can no longer hear me. If I unplug the phone, plug it back in, it works again for a while.
Anyone else have this issue?
Any luck? Seems like multiple reports of the same issue with different phone models. The dealer told me it was Verizon ? although Verizon has their own issues, I highly doubt that's the problem here.going to dealer on the 19th
see how many trips i have to make
I am having this problem too. It is almost like my phone goes on mute.
