Just got back a few days ago from my 10 days in Oregon, (which was awesome aside from driving a Subaru rental)...and maybe 13 days without starting my Passport.

This morning it didn’t want to start right away, and the brake pedal had almost no give. Finally it did start, but again after several attempts? Any updates from others since I had this happen in mid December and posted about it?

Also, any ideas why this vent on the dash, top left of the steering wheel will still push cold air thru even with all the air handler options turned off? Tried turning on and off the recycled vs outside air to see if that stopped it and no luck?

I would get the starting problem checked at the Honda Dealers. As to the vent problem, I am going to check mine in the morning, it's too cold, snowy and blowing outside to check right now.

thanks Wayne.

I’m home next week and will ask my Honda guys. The dealer x me is still trying to figure out how to SPELL Honda Passport, yet alone know how to fix it.

yeah, let me know about that vent? I was comfortable having no heat or air and just felt cold air on the left side of my face then finally put my hand on the vent and it blows the cold air at least at highway speed. I forgot to check city driving today.

My belief is that vent is designed to blow air at the side windows, to assist in keeping them fog free.
When the car has been sitting a week use the Remote start function, no braking is required.

Vrooom, vrooom.
interesting. I’ll certainly try that method.

Heather, I checked that vent this morning after the car sat all night. The outside temp was 41F, as soon as I started the car there was cool, low air flow coming from that vent, as the car warmed up that vent air got warmer, I had the climate control set on Auto at 70F. When I turned the system off the flow stopped coming out of the vent, so if the climate control was on you had flow, if it was off, the flow stopped.
Hope that helps.

Well back Heather!
Thanks Ken! Happy 2020!
But officially back to work for a bit. I have a week in between this gig and my next long run though.

Thanks for checking.
Odd. Mine is certainly cold airflow with the heat or AC on and the climate control off?? ?

Steering wheel lockout maybe? Next time she doesn't want to start, push down break pedal, shimmy steering wheel left and right and press start button. Should start right up. this has happened to me
