Android Auto

Just my observations using Android Auto.
I seem to have much better results when connecting my phone before starting the PP. Connecting my phone after the car is started results in "Android device not found". Disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't help.
Also I have less issues using a longer cable. I bought 6 inch cables to prevent clutter but the short length seems to put too much stress on the connectors if the phone moves around and causes disconnects.
Anyway, hopes this helps someone FWIW, just my 2 cents.

Sorry you are having issues with AA. I have a Touring, am using a Samsung 21+ and have had no problems with AA using a 3' cable. Plugging in before or after starting the PP, it always connects. Also did not have any problems with my old Samsung S8. Perhaps trying a different phone to see if it is the phone??? Or resetting the radio to default settings and trying to reconnect the phone???

I have a 2021 Passport and a Samsung Galaxy S10. When I first bought the car, I had no problem connecting the phone, however, I am now getting an error message that reads "cannot import favorite contacts" The phone works but does not display who is calling, only the number
Just a guess but I’ve seen this on Toyota’s. Did you recently update the Samsung system? Sometimes they make older phones obsolete by writing the software for the newer phones. Typically useful life from many manufacturers is 2 years on the phone. At least supporting updates.
anyway S10 I believe is at that date
I figured out how to see my contacts. I thought I would share in case anyone else had this issue. I turned off the blue tooth on my phone, turned it on again, went into settings and had to allow for the phones contacts and messages to be available. Next time I turned on my Passport, my contacts were there. I had to reset my favorites, but that wasn't a problem

I have to thank you. I was going nuts. Suddenly, my samsung galaxy note phone would not connect via usb. I bought 4 different cables. I finally just bought a new phone -- the Galaxy Z Fold. That wouldn't connect either. At that point, I was apoplectic. Read your post and tried again before starting the car. That worked. You're a genius!
