I uninstalled AA yesterday, downloaded it again, and then the option was available in AA settings to enable it. It looks and works really well!Has anyone been able to achieve this for their passport? My phone has definitely updated to the latest version of AA, but the UI in vehicle remains the same.
Good idea -- I'll give it a shot.I uninstalled AA yesterday, downloaded it again, and then the option was available in AA settings to enable it.
Worked for me and plenty of other people.![]()
How You Can Try (And Fail) to Enable the New Android Auto
This is a server-side switch that Google needs to activatenews.softpedia.com
Good to know it works on Pixel 3's just bummer it doesn't work at all for me. Did you have any issues setting it up or did it just work the first time? I've tried 3 cables (knowing that each cable was fine-- how else would the Passport know it was connected which the settings show) but every time I connect it, the Passport complains it's not connected. You can't make this stuff up-- It knows it's connected but doesn't know it's connected!?!?!I have the new AA UI working in my Passport using a Pixel 3XL.

Congrats on your victory! As for your last question: Wireless Android Auto is a no go in the Passport. It's a miracle!!! After many hours and countless trials I finally got Android Auto to work. Not sure which magical setting caused it to finally work but I probably toggled every single knob in the AA settings including enabling developer mode yesterday. After I disable developer mode today (since I didn't see anything interesting in the dev mode menu) it started working and also now shows "honda" as a connected car.
I know there's an option for wireless use but don't suppose the Passport supports it. Anybody try it? I'm a bit afraid to change anything at this point.
Thanks. Figured as much about wireless AA since Honda tech isn't up to par to some of the other auto companies (which took me all of 3 minutes to realize post-purchase, sigh).Congrats on your victory! As for your last question: Wireless Android Auto is a no go in the Passport.
This is a bummer... I am frustrated that every short little trip requires me to plug in the phone to get the Android Auto functionality. When I try to go to AA, it says "No android auto device detected. To use android auto, connect a compatible device to the USB port or change the device's permission in the settings app."Thanks. Figured as much about wireless AA since Honda tech isn't up to par to some of the other auto companies (which took me all of 3 minutes to realize post-purchase, sigh).

That last bit, "to the USB port or change the device's permission in the settings app" gave me hope that Wireless was a possibility... if only I could find where to enable it. View attachment 3875
