Been lurking here for a while and done a few posts.
I’m shopping for a Touring AWD. Very discouraging. We settled on Black Forest Pearl. However, in the near 42 dealers w/341 Passports, there is only 1! And that dealer is not budging.(they also pre-loaded it w/$903 dealer installed options!)
Local dealer, whom I’ve bought 2 Hondas from, is willing to transfer the BFP here, but won’t deal. They wouldn’t even honor an auto-generated TrueCar discount of $1368! The only bright thing about trying to deal, was I asked for $25K trade in for my ’17 CR-V EX-L w/7800 mi.(KBB high trade-in) The used car mgr checked it out and said Yes to that.
I had thought that ’17 V would be the last new car I would ever buy – got a little age factor going here. Boy, was that a mistake!
So jealous of other areas getting good discounts, back east, Portland and LA area. But N CA and central valley sucks! My last 2 Honda buys were; 3 emails, 9.3% off – 2 emails, 10% off. Quick clean deals.
Our 2nd choice would be the Deep Scarlet Pearl. There are 4 I can locate. Tried to work with one, but we are $1300 apart.
Sorry for the long vent.

The PP is a nice ride for sure - good luck! Only other color I liked for me was Black Forest Pearl and there were none around me for 100s of miles (Elite BFP) fortunately there was modern steel which was my fav so I went that route to save a few coins vs ordering and waiting on a dark color in MN ???
Welcome Jack, hey I had a salesperson in Bishop, Ca. (Perry Motors) offer me a Black Elite at "Invoice" price, which might cheaper than a un-discounted Touring model, it that is not too far of a drive, you should check them out.. good luck..!
Perry - I'd swear last night when I looked, they had 5 PPs - but not 1 I wanted. This a.m. only 2, and one is a Elite BFP. It's over 300 mi. because CA 120 is closed.
Really don't like the looks of the Elite wheels, and don't think it's worth the extra $2300.
And the real shocker - the dealer that has the Touring BFP - now has 2 of them! And of course, they won't deal.
I don't know how meaningful or accurate cargurus is, but overnight, they dropped the 'Great Price' of the Touring AWD $1139 to $37141. Wow, that's $1539 below invoice, and eating right thru hold back. I assume cargurus #'s are a nation wide average. It's been dropping for the last week.
Keep looking, even a drive of 200 miles to a reasonable dealer could get you what you the deal you want. My son found a Land Cruiser he wanted a few years ago &, had the sales person send him a bunch of pictures, as it was not a new vehicle. He flew from GA to Missouri- used frequent flyer points- bought it and drove back to GA, with one hotel stay. Got it a couple thousand dollars under bluebook. He just put the 3rd timing belt on it with 300,000 miles. I am still proud of him for being so creative. He taught his Dad to think out of the box when working with dealers.
Back in '82 I wanted to buy a Toyota Cressida as a family car. SF Bay Area dealers wouldn't budge. LA dealers were selling them for $1200-2000 less (that was a lot of money then). I was ready to buy a plane ticket and go pick one up. Decided just to change brands and bought a Peugeot 505 STI.

Dude try the one near alameda? Concord Honda. I was gonna budge on it and try to visit my folks near the area but California is a “hot zone” right now Re: covid And I would be subject to 14 day unpaid quarantine days if I try to goand stay more than 24 hours on certain states* (more like most states except north east coast states-where I am right now.

Try to ask for Jack Zhang, I think he is the gm there (?) .....

Look around. The most I have right now for a awd elite is 40k + 695 (doc fees)+ tax (7%) + $303 (dmv fees 07305) — but I still didn’t bite on it... since it won’t fit on my garage, I told myself I’m gonna wait till I can get it on the price I want, maybe 39.5k with doc fees included....
