The biggest problem I have with the PP. is the thing that we pay for that don't work as they should. turn these things off and it is a nice vehicle. Second is no place for a full size spare, and third it should get better mileage .......

I agree that many of the features, like ACC, Auto Hi/Lo Beams and Collision Alert, don't work well at all. These seem like an easy firmware update if Honda would choose to fix. I don't care about a full size spare - haven't used a spare in 20 years and my mileage is at 22.75 mpg over 26,000. What do you expect for a 4,500 lbs SUV with 2 passengers.

Try looking at a CRV they will hold a full size spare, Why does it get less mileage than the Pilot and the Ridgeline ??

Our 2018 CRV had a 1.5L turbo engine paired to a CVT and was failry small, that helps the mileage. It was also not capable (in any configuration) of towing 5000lbs nor was it as comfortable as our Passport. While I feel it should get better mileage under normal driving conditions, I am okay that it does not considering what I can do with it if needed.

Yeap, it's a great car on paper but doesn't flesh out quite as well in reality.

Erratic brake warning - Too many false warnings.

Erratic cruise control - Driving at night on a wide open road, it all of sudden thinks something is closing in ahead and slows down.

Infotainment - USB with music gets stuck on initializing on start up. I have to unplug and plug usb.

Gas mileage - I'm getting 16mpg average. About the same as a Toyota Sequoia I've driven.

I've only had the car for 2 months and it's winter. If the gas mileage doesn't improve over time, I'm dumping the car for a Rav4 and Sequioa/Tundra. I need the towing capability and cargo space. I figured I could make a compromise with the Passport but it hasn't quite lived up to it.

The only reason I mentioned the 2017 CRV was I had a full size spare tire that fit in a smaller vehicle, nothing about mileage. I was going about the Honda advertised mileage of the PP and the Pilot and the Ridgeline. It is also funny that the Honda sensing issues are the same as I had on the CRV and I was told the PP. didn't have the the same issues..... They were right ... they are worse..... and more of them

I think the gas mileage is comparable to other SUVs of similar size with 6 cyl engines (24 Hwy and 17 City for me). That's about the same as my wife's Highlander. I didn't want a smaller vehicle, or a 4 cyl turbo, or a hybrid, any of which would net better mileage. As to the spare, I haven't needed one in 20 years. Except this summer on a rocky forest trail in Colorado where a rock punctured the side of my all terrain tire. Was very happy I was carrying a full size spare in the space where the temp spare lived. I just built an ugly 5 inch frame that raised the stock deck to make room for that spare. But if you don't off road then a temp spare is fine.

I agree with Joharra. I traded a 18 CRV EXL for the 20 PP EXL. The PP safety features don't seem to work as well as the CRV. I frequently get collision alerts on 2 lane roads while making right hand slight turns. Several times the damn brakes kicked in, too. There was no reason for it. I see Saizou has experienced this, too. Mileage? Highway at about 75 is 25 - 27 MPG. Around town is 20-22. Much less than the CRV but the PP is much larger and heavier. Plus a V6 vs a I4. I thought about dumping the PP but once I started looking, EVERYTHING out there looks like a clone of one another. Even the Jeep Grand Cherokee has similar style. Decided to keep it and put 18" on it when needed. Gonna be a while, only have 6500 on it after 7 months. Damn covid working from home.

I agree in some aspects, previously I had a 2013 Pilot and the garage door opener feature worked flawlessly on the old Pilot. My 2020 Passport won't open the same garage doors. I was asked to lengthen the antennas as a last ditch effort, bit I'm not modifying my garage lifts...I'm embarrassed to say I have the 2 push buttons remotes hanging in my visor. I've also experienced the phantom breaking events. I've switched to the old fashioned cruise control option and it helps.

Thats my point, It's a nice vehicle if you turn all the stuff off that doesn't work any how. Plus good luck on the firm ware fix when they had 5 model years to fix it in CRV and now the Passport, still the same or worse.........

I have a 2018 Ridgeline and a 2019 Passport...The gas mileage on a trip is usually 2 to 3 MPG better on the Passport than my Ridgeline...I frequently travel to and from the same place to visit family on different occasions...So I'm comparing apples to apples...larryd
I had a 2011 Pilot EX-L AWD and my PP Elite AWD is getting much better gas mileage, probably on the average 4 to 5 mpg better.
