If you are not going to tune your vehicle after installing an intake IMO don't bother buying one unless its for the sound. I have experience tuning with Hondata. Without tuning, usually there is a small loss somewhere in the powerband and a small increase somewhere else. With tuning you can usually see increases across the entire band, especially the mid range when lowering vtec engagement.
Zzz. This thread says in the beginning it’s about sound and sensations.

a quick slide I did a while ago while experimenting with PP traction off settings. Once you get it off, it's quite happy to rotate and the rear diff makes it really easy to modulate.
Hell yeah. Were you able to turn it off entirely or is this just off using the button?
There’s a way to completely disable vsa by doing a sequence involving the brake, parking brake, and vsa button. Don’t cook your diff though.

This was fully off using the brake sequence. I have yet to see any overheat warnings even after extended high speed loose surface driving. From what Ive seen online it's mainly during low speed climbing on very loose surfaces where that really becomes a risk.

I reached out to Magnaflow and Borla via email and asked if they plan to develop and release an exhaust system for the HP. Will post if/when I hear back from either.

Cool. Do you mind posting instructions for said sequence?

Sure, it's the same sequence on all new Honda vehicles. Here it is:
1. Apply regular brake, turn traction off and back on
2. Apply parking brake, release regular brake, turn traction off and back on
3. With the parking brake still applied, apply the regular brake. Turn traction off and back on.

If you've done the sequence correctly, you will see the stability symbols start to flash and the car will not take any action to prevent wheel slip or maintain stability. ABS still functions normally.

Borla's response:

We do not currently have plans to develop on that platform, but we are always watching the market and adjusting accordingly. We may choose to do one in the future. Stay tuned. Thank you for your patience.

just do the custom with the magnaflow as we discussed before! its super easy for a muffler shop to cut, bend and weld a section of the pipes.

Magnaflow's response:

At this time it does not look like we have anything in production for your vehicle. Magnaflow designs exhausts for vehicles based on demand and the amount of customer requests we receive. I will provide a link below to our development program for a chance to have a system designed using your vehicle.

Idk if this has already been discussed, but im thinking about removing the resonators marked at numbers 12 and 13..... Straight pipe at those points should add enough "character" to the exhaust without over doing it.... Has anyone done this? Thoughts?

EDIT: I noticed this exact topic was done on another thread.... but has this been done yet?

I was thinking about it but haven't done it; jonii makes a good recommendation: just remove them and see if there's any sound difference. May give that a go one of these days...

Hey, did this today, not worth. Under anything but full throttle it wasn't noticeable and at full throttle it was just slightly louder. I didn't put straight pipe in though I just took that section out and I could smell the exhaust a lot it was like funneling in the cab.

  • Edit: I took both resonator sections off but only took a picture of one side.

Thanks for handling this experiment. I was about to crawl under there this weekend and have a go of it. You saved me some time. (y)

Looks like a trip at some point to a muffler shop and have them fabricate a modified part #11 in the above diagram.
