I've owned my Passport for 1 week and haven't needed the AC until today. It was a sunny 70 so I put the temp about 68 and it was not cool, so I lower the temp to 59 and it's barely cool even with the ECON turned off. It's supposed to be in the mid to upper 80s this weekend, so it's going to the dealer first thing tomorrow morning.
Another one bites the dust.

So the ACs worked in all these autos during y'alls test drives and de!ivery, then failed later in ownership?

My test drive today, just north of Houston, we had the AC blasting on Lo.
Was very warm inside the parked Touring I test drove. But AC ran great during my drive.

I tested mine in 40 degree weather and didnt think about AC. A lot of the first production wave cars were sold in Feb/March. At this point, dealers are probably checking and fixing the problem when they arrive at dealerships. If it worked on a test drive, I’d say you are 75% going to be fine. You might just run the AC hard one more time before you take it home. If not its a mostly painless fix.

I have noticed Passport A/C blows fine, but does not seem to cool as well as prior vehicles. Would a faulty evaporator gasket cause the problem?
My Elite seems to have the same problem. It blows cool air, but not cold as in my 2012 Pilot did.

It’s all or nothing for most of us. Refridgerant regulations and econ mode are to blame for poorer performance. If you had our issue, there wouls be no AC at all.

Yep, needed the AC yesterday and nada. Scheduled an appointment for Monday morning to so what's going on, crazy! First Honda vehicle other than motorcycles and I've never had an issue like this.

Add me to the list. Live in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was 85 today. Turned on my air conditioner for the first time today. It is slightly above warm air. I will call the dealer on Monday. Hope they can repair it quickly. Seems like we have winter the summer without a spring anymore. Disappointed in Honda quality control.

Add an Iowan to the list. Was in Des Moines on Thursday - temperature @93 fahrenheit. Old memories of driving around with all the windows open. Appointment at dealer tomorrow for repairs. I may call ahead to make sure they have the parts - it's a good hours drive South of where I live.

Don't see the production date anywhere on the car, or on any of my paperwork. We purchased it on April 1st. Never needed the AC until last week.

My passport went in the shop last week with AC not working. Working now and hope it stays that way. They only added freon as said no leak present.

I have counted 12 people with air conditioning not working. Seems like a high number. I have an appointment for tomorrow. I will give their diagnosis for repair.

Nice batting average/what gives - how could Honda have so many (that’s 12 from here) and bet there is even more out there and luckily mine is good but still a pain in the rear for many / l, like u, think that’s piss ass poor quality control - excuse my French

Believe they are all being built in AL. My 2012 Ridgeline also built in AL, had so many misfitting panels and just shoddy QC it seemed from the factory. I will go look over any Passport very well out in sunlight to look for any issues before I bring one home. I don't want to spend my time in my new ride going back and forth to the dealers. I kinda had other travel plans with it. :cautious: peace, e.

it’s likely a component manufactured by a third party, which honda has no direct control over. issues on first year cars are a given, regardless of manufacturer. however, dealerships are supposed to check ac functionality and i have noticed lowered standards for service departments and overall fit and finish the last few years.
