Hello everybody! So my Passport is showing the oil change required soon. My PP is only 3 months old with 1500 miles. The oil life is showing 15%. Has anybody ever had this appear so early? I saw that most of you have had your alerts come around 4-5k miles. Any info would be appreciated.

Sounds like a vehicle that had sat on the lot for a while. What year is your Passport?
Oil should be changed at least once a year no matter the mileage. Various components in modern engine oils both natural and synthetic will degrade over time. As a vehicle sits, the MM will still keep track of the time since the last oil change as well as the milage and vehicle operating conditions and reduce the oil life respectively.

Before Covid on my Pilot Touring I was doing MM recommended oil changes at about 7500 miles +/-. I bought the Passport one month before Covid hit and my MM popped up the first A1 service at 3200 miles. I was driving a lot less after Covid. My 2020 only had 7 miles on it and literally came off the truck 3 days before I bought it. I was 11 months + in putting on 3200 miles when the MM told me I had 15% oil life.

My Passport is a 2021 Sport. I don’t put many miles on it since my commute is short, so I usually just change the oil every 5k miles or so (previous vehicles). I just thought it was really unusual it came up this early.

It is unusual. The maintenance minder is programmed to measure several operating conditions, but this is WAY too soon for any of them to prompt a change already. If it were me, I’d at least call Honda and ask before forking over the money.

I bought a 2019 in July 2020 and just got 15% minder at 7,500 miles...I think the vehicle sat on lot for 200+ days so unless they reset the minder before sales, not sure what to say about aging and minder notice. 1500 is way too soon

Have you physically checked to make sure you aren’t leaking oil or they didn’t fill it properly and it’s low?

Maintenance minder now tracks time also. Honda recommends oil changes of at least once per year. The MM is tracking that first change from the date the Passport was built, not the date when you bought it.
If has a 21, the earliest it could have built was late September, early October. Mine, a 2020 was built in September (doesn't even have the Earth Dreams sticker) so if it's going by time is it going by the date the engine was manufactured or is it something completely different? Maybe his Passport spend a lot of time idling. None of this makes sense.
