A screen protector that works

I really don't boast about a product, but I was looking for a good screen protector and started seeing the Photodon mentioned alot. I was hesitant due to members saying to buy more than one cause of the air bubbles and dust getting caught behind it. So I took the plunge and ordered one, but only one, first ordering the wrong finish which customer service fixed for me. Anyway, so I read the instructions, straight forward but needed to use a little common sense. Took the time to prep the screen, the removal of all the tiny dust particles took the most patience and time. I would recommend keeping your door closed. The recommended installation temp was met (its 90 here). I was pouring sweat, the screen was clean and now was the time. So I took off the back film and started to apply as directed. After some minor smoothing I pulled off the front film.....and well, the pictures tell the story.

I chose to go with the matte finish, and I'm glad I did. Helps alot with the sun glare from the sun roof. Still easy to see the display and has a nice feel. The kit came with literally everything needed to install (although I would bring more tape with you for dust removal). Just thought I'd share.

I ordered the one for the 19/20/21 Pilot and its MXH 25% film type.

PhotoDon has great products and fantastic customer service!

And I remember the whole sweating with no airflow moving and being probably 90* inside my Passport!
But the second time I applied the screen protector, it worked much better. No bubbles or dust lint, and it was on straight - I also kept the door closed, let it be warm in the vehicle and in the sun vs., a cold dark garage and I still have 1 spare if needed.
Yup, mine is still cooking outside. Felt like so much pressure during the line up part. I'm happy with it. Well worth the price that's for sure.

How would you say it does with fingerprints?

I have zero fingerprints or glare with mine and it’s the same one Chris installed.

The instant my first one went on around the knob not straight and I couldn’t fix it, I knew it was doomed. 🤣
So far so good on the prints. Granted all I have done is run out and grab pizza. :)
Looks great! I love your wallpaper, where did you find it?
I don't remember exactly where, but I know I searched something like 4k Honda wallpapers.
Is the passport screen prone to scratches?
I’ve never had issues with any screen since early 2000s except the 2020 4Runner that scratches with a simple finger swipe and requires a screen cover.
From what I see it looks fairly stable in the passport.
Thanks
I'm not sure I would say prone...but I did manage to put 2 scratches in my screen, while using the microfiber cloth that Honda gave me. My dad has a 18 Ridgeline and his display has fine scratches, which I would call normal wear and tear. Regardless, I am glad I put this on. Fingerprints are really not a thing (which used to drive me crazy no matter how clean my hands were), and the glare with the sunroof open is diminished.

Is this film or tempered glass?
It is a screen protector film product that sticks to your screen to keep finger prints and the glare of the sun off.

Before screen protector - see the glare:

I know it is as I have the tempered glass protector on 21 PP. But it is shiny. I would prefer matte finish but I would want it in tempered glass.
I didn’t read the fine print and ordered one thinking it was glass. My old Toyota they sold matte finish tempered glass that I never had an issue with it.
Is this one prone to scratches since it’s a film?
So far, no. They do include cleaner and a cloth to clean it with. Which film did you get?

The screen on the Passport is the worst I've ever seen for glare. It's installed way, way too much on an upward angle.
Besides the glare, it totally magnifies the dust. My screen is always looking like it was sprinkled with salt.
Bad job Honda!!
