500 miles & traded up

I just got my Black Copper Pearl Touring on Monday. Thursday I started to really regret not going with the Black Elite that was on the lot. I contacted my agent after hours to ask about trading. He spent most of Friday working a deal to get a Modern Steel Elite from a dealership 2 hours away (the Black one had sold). Success!! I have to pay the labor to remove my lighted side rails and my tow package but that’s it!! No depreciation! It’s going to cost me $1200 for labor and a new transmission cooler. Dropping my touring off today and I get the Elite on Monday!

Congratulations!
And post a photo.
I find the Elite has a lot of small touches that are worthwhile to me so I went with it from the start and haven't regretted it.

The CD player (or lack there of) was the deciding factor for me. As I got a Touring AWD and figured I could live without :
1) Automatic Wipers (It rains less than 10 inches a year where I live)
2) Air Conditioned Seats (Never them and my backside is just fine, plus many are not overly impressed with the actual cooling it provides)
3) Heated Steering Wheel (I'm in So. Cal. - never had that feature, never missed it).
4) Heated outside Mirrors (same as above)
5) Phone Charging Pad (Need to plug in your phone thru the USB to use Car Play and THAT charges my phone, just fine)
6) Black Wheels (I was getting the Modern Steel and did not like Glossy Black Wheels with that combo)

So again, the Touring model is not all that bad...

Overall, I am happy that I picked the Elite. I thought that I would never use the heated steering wheel in Texas, but I discovered it was nice to have in the winter. The ventilated seats do seem pretty pathetic, but I've never experienced what they're like in another vehicle, so I don't know how they compare. Nevertheless, I do use them. The automatic wipers are kind of annoying because once they speed up, they don't slow down, so I have to turn them off and back on. I borrowed a Touring one time, and I did miss my dimming side mirrors. I don't use the wireless charging pad because I use the cable for Apple CarPlay, but if I had a CD player instead, I wouldn't use it either because I converted all of my music to MP3 files years ago.

I live in North Dakota so the heated features are VERY appreciated! I also don’t care for the glossy black wheels but I am planning to black carbon fiber vinyl on the piano black inside the car so may extend that to the wheels and posts as well. The touring wasn’t a bad car, I still loved it. I just wanted to have all the extras I guess.

STD on EX-L and above.
Nice if you make a trip to CO in the winter.
Useless in SoCal deserts.

Who me?

(If so): In Feb (2019) I flew to Denver and my daughter (who is going to school in Boulder and decided to take a semester off) picked me up at the airport and we made a mad dash home, I did not want to take the 70 west at that time of year, so I took the 25 south thru NM and then 40 across AZ back to Cali. The weekend I picked was between storms and we had amazing weather the entire 2 days driving home...BUT, we were in her (2019) Subaru Forester and it was a very good drive...Cheers!
