For the first 9 months/14,000 miles I owned my PP whenever I refuel the range on the trip computer would reset to 403 miles. Seemed reasonable for a vehicle that has a 19.5 gal tank and 20-ish MPG. Imagine my surprise when a few weeks ago the trip computer now predicts 500+ miles until empty upon refueling! That implies 25 mpg for the tank - something I typically only get going downhill (with a tailwind). What gives? Any ideas?

According to fuelly.com there are two (out of 22 users) with high mpg figures (25 and 26).
You can scroll thru individual users (page two has the 26 mpg).

I think most of those are the old Passport. If you filter by the 3.5L engine the sample drops to just 4 with a couple report 24MPG at the top end. Regardless, MY mileage hasn't topped 25, and the range to empty at every fill up now is reporting north of 500. Software update change the algorithm? It's the sudden change to an unattainable number that is bizarre. What are others showing as full tank range?

OK: I will stipulate that the 2019 AWD Passport is a hypermiling wonder. Everyone is averaging well over 25 MPG (except me). Question remains: what is the range that people are seeing on the trip computer upon fill up? Is it reflecting the last tank's MPG? The "most recent" MPG? I was pretty much getting the 400 mile prediction and could trust the range to empty I was seeing, but now with a 500 mile fill up prediction I have much less trust in that. The sudden jump without a change in driving habits seems odd to me.

After refueling I always see low 400+ mile range, I've never observed anything close to 500.

Lately my Passport is coming around to seeing a month plus per tank (a new measuring standard).
My diesel dually has sat idle since last October (first due to cold weather - now the virus).

FYI: my explanation of cold weather is anytime the nights dip below 60.

Got 25.6 for 4 hour drive. Eco mode. Cruise set to 78. Night time driving in December on mostly flat hwy.

This made me think and want to ask how others utilize the trip computer. I reset trip A at every fill up. Reset trip B when I do oil change. How do others utilize trip A and B? Do others use the same way or something completely different? Do you rely on maintenance minder to tell you when oil change is due?

So far same as you, reset at every fill up and I have not yet changed the oil, only 2700 miles on the car.
