Apologies if I'm putting this in the wrong spot. First post.

Does anyone know if the 2023 Passport will follow the 2023 Pilot's lead regarding the new 10 speed transmission and/or the upgraded capability of the trailsport trim?

Can't track down if that info has been released yet. Cheers.

To paraphrase the excellent response from both @penzance and @Obert, if you want a Honda Passport that shares the design and technical attributes of the 2023 Honda Pilot, you will have to wait until the 2024 Passport is released. The 2023 Passport is already being sold and it's identical to the 2022 Passport.
If you decide to wait for the 2024 Passport, you might want to note that there are some perception in the Honda owner community that the rugged Trailsport trim of the 2023 Pilot might be so successful that Honda does not feel inclined to continue the Passport line it markets as its off-road brand.

The more we discuss... It does make sense that Honda would choose to not continue with the Passport following this version. It would be too bad as I was looking forward to a 4th gen Passport as I'm liking what I see of the 4th gen Pilot, and would likely have purchased. While I don't dislike styling on the outgoing Pilot... it's never done much for me, and I sorta agreed with those who thought it was minivan-like. When Honda announced the Passport's return... I immediately knew it was for me. It's my first SUV, and I like nearly everything about it. The black wheels, no chrome to be found, perfect length and of course being a Honda. 2 years and 23k miles in... I love this ride. It's getting ready for yet another road trip (600 miles roundtrip) next weekend.

It would be sad to see the demise of the Passport. While the Pilot is a nice vehicle, I don't want or need third row seating. I prefer the size of the Passport over the CR-V.

You can always flip down the third row if you are not using it. The only benefits for the Passport over the Pilot was better offroad angles as well as higher ground clearance.

Does the Pilot have the storage bin and spare tire under the floor in the rear?

From one of the videos I watched, the early reviewer said the Trailsport trim will have a full size spare tire while other trims will have a donut and all the spares will be under body mounted. Because of the third row seats the covered rear storage area in the Pilot is not as much as available in the 2019-2023 Passport, in additional to that the Trailsport trim of the 2023 Pilot has an even smaller covered storage area because it's full size spare takes up additional space.

It has the storage bin. Spare tire is under the bumper on the Pilot. The space where the spare tire is on the Passport is 3rd row in the Pilot. The only reason Passports have the spare in the trunk is because they shortened the rear so there is no space under the bumper for the spare. You can see the metal carrier for the spare is still under the car.

I also noticed the infotainment system looks like what they use in their other cars like the Accord and Civic, which don’t seem to have problems. I wonder if that will eliminate all the stereo problems they have had with the current system. Between that and the new 10speed automatic, I would be tempted to trade mine in for a 2024 if they carryover those changes from the Pilot.

The new Pilot does have some really nice upgrades but those upgrades come at a price. The current Trailsport Passport straits at $44K, the new Pilot Trailsport starts at $50K.

That’s a big price difference when the 22 Pilot was the same starting price. Will the new Passport also get that type of a price increase IF they do another gen?

Good point. I just looked it up and the MSRP of a 22 pilot Trailsport is $44k. That's quite a jump to $50k for 2023.
